What do caregiving and coffee have in common? Both are better when you slow down enough to actually notice what's in front of you.

Caregiving isn't just the tasks on the care plan, it's noticing the small things.

A question answered a little slower.

A cup of coffee left unfinished.

Most people assume that stopping their blood pressure medication just means going back to where they started.

But that's not what the research shows.
When you stop, your blood pressure doesn't simply return to its pre-treatment level. It can actually spike higher than before you started medication sometimes within just days. No warning. No symptoms. Nothing to tell you something is wrong.

This is called rebound hypertension. And it's one of the reasons we dedicated our entire July newsletter to this topic.

This month we're sharing Rose's story, a 71-year-old who stopped her blood pressure medication after 90 days because she felt great. Three weeks later she was in the emergency room.

Rose's story is more common than most people realize.

When it comes to chronic conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease, feeling better is not the finish line. In many cases, it means the medication is working. The moment you stop, the condition no longer has anything keeping it in check.

Our hearts are with the people of Venezuela 🇻🇪.

The devastating earthquakes that struck on June 24th have left hundreds of families grieving, thousands injured, and entire communities shattered. We are deeply saddened by the scale of this tragedy.

At Cross Cultural CareLink, we serve families from all walks of life including members of the Venezuelan community right here in our own care family. Today, we hold them especially close in our thoughts.
