Connectivity was fully restored late last night, and Chelsea Hospital’s phone, cellular, and internet services are operating normally.

The temporary EMS diversion has been lifted, and the hospital has resumed normal operations.

We appreciate the patience and understanding of our patients, EMS partners, staff, and community as our teams worked with technology partners to safely restore service. Thank you for your support.

ALERT: Chelsea Hospital is currently experiencing an outage affecting landline telephone service, cellular communications, and internet connectivity, resulting in communication disruptions across the hospital.

Out of an abundance of caution, Chelsea Hospital is temporarily diverting incoming EMS traffic while we assess the situation and work to restore affected systems. Patient care within the hospital continues, and our teams have implemented established downtime procedures to maintain safe, uninterrupted care.

We are actively working with our technology teams and service providers to resolve the outage as quickly as possible. Patient safety remains our top priority, and we will provide updates as additional information becomes available.

“We love seeing kids outside, but try to avoid direct sun contact. This is the time to wear big, cute hats and long-sleeve shirts. For younger kids and infants who are seeing the sun, an SPF of 30 or more with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide helps provide a great barrier to your little one and the sun.” Dr. Mac Fountain, Pediatrician, Trinity Health Medical Group, Primary Care & Pediatrics - Byron Center

Wildfire smoke is causing unhealthy air quality conditions across Michigan.

Smoke particles can affect anyone, but people with asthma, COPD, heart disease, older adults, and young children may be especially vulnerable. Taking a few precautions can help reduce your exposure: stay indoors when possible, keep windows closed, use an air purifier, and wear an N95 mask if you must spend time outside.

Concerned about how poor air quality may be affecting your health? Schedule an appointment at https://bit.ly/3TabQvE

Michigan air quality is impacted by wildfire smoke this week. Everyone should take precautions to protect your and your family’s health.

Monitor your local air quality at AirNow.gov and follow the guidance for everyone and schools, daycares and outside activities at EH.michigan.gov/WildfireSmoke-Health.

“It’s always important to be within arm’s length of any infant or toddler and to provide active supervision to any older children and teenagers. No extra screens or distractions for the supervisor means a safe child and an enjoyable day in the water!” Dr. Mac Fountain, Trinity Health Medical Group, Primary Care & Pediatrics - Byron Center.
