Neck Pain or Shoulder Pain? They can feel surprisingly similar, but the cause may be completely different. ๐Ÿค”

Many people assume pain near the shoulder automatically means there's something wrong with the shoulder. But in some cases, the real source of the pain may actually be your neck.

Understanding the difference is important because the right treatment starts with the right diagnosis. Treating the wrong area can delay recovery and keep you living with unnecessary pain.

Not all pain procedures are performed the same. Here's why technology matters.

Ever wondered how physicians treat pain with incredible precision?

The machine you're seeing in this video is called a fluoroscope, a specialized, real-time X-ray imaging system that allows Dr. Steven McGrath to see your anatomy as he performs image-guided procedures.

Instead of relying on estimation alone, fluoroscopy helps accurately guide needles to the intended treatment area, improving precision while helping avoid nearby structures. This level of guidance is commonly used during many interventional pain procedures because accuracy matters.

At Renew Spine & Pain Wellness, we believe advanced technology is only as valuable as the physician using it. That's why Dr. Steven McGrath combines years of expertise with modern, image-guided techniques to provide personalized, evidence-based care focused on identifying the true source of your pain, not simply masking symptoms.

Whether you're struggling with:
โœ”๏ธ Chronic back pain
โœ”๏ธ Neck pain
โœ”๏ธ Sciatica
โœ”๏ธ Joint pain
โœ”๏ธ Nerve pain

You deserve care that's built on experience, precision, and the right technology.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Curious? Tell us in the comments:
Did you know pain procedures can be performed using live X-ray guidance?

Or ask us your questions about fluoroscopy, we'd love to answer them.

๐Ÿ“If chronic pain has been holding you back, schedule a consultation with Renew Spine & Pain Wellness and discover how a precise diagnosis and advanced image-guided treatment can help you get back to living with confidence.

DID YOU KNOW? ๐Ÿค”

Your spine loves movement more than rest.

It might sound surprising, but too much rest can actually make your back feel stiffer and weaker. While short periods of rest can help after an injury, your spine is designed to move.

Gentle, consistent movement helps:
โœ… Improve blood flow to your spine and muscles
โœ… Reduce stiffness
โœ… Strengthen the muscles that support your back
โœ… Keep your joints healthy and flexible

The key is the right kind of movement. Not every back pain is the same, and what helps one person may not be the best solution for another. That's why getting the right diagnosis is just as important as staying active.

If you've been avoiding movement because of pain, it may be time to find out why you're hurting, not just treat the symptoms.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Tell us in the comments:
Does your back feel better when you move... or after you've been resting?

๐Ÿ’ฌ Tag someone who spends too much time sitting at a desk!

๐Ÿ“If pain is keeping you from doing the things you love, schedule an evaluation with Renew Spine & Pain Wellness and let us help you get back to moving with confidence.

Sacroiliac (SI) joint pain vs. Low Back Pain: How Can You Tell the Difference?

Not all lower back pain comes from the spine.

Many people assume every ache in the lower back is the same, but SI (Sacroiliac) Joint pain and low back pain can feel very similar while having completely different causes. That's why getting the right diagnosis is so important.

Pain from the SI joint often develops where your pelvis meets your spine and may worsen when standing, climbing stairs, rolling over in bed, or getting in and out of a car. Low back pain, on the other hand, may have a different source, and treating the wrong condition can delay your recovery.

๐Ÿ“– Want to know the difference? Our latest blog explains.

Lower back pain isn't always caused by a muscle strain or a "slipped disc."

One of the most commonly overlooked causes is Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Dysfunction, the joint where your hip bone meets your lower spine. When this joint isn't moving properly, it can cause persistent pain, stiffness, and discomfort in the lower back, buttocks, or even down the leg.

If your back pain keeps coming back despite rest, stretching, or pain medication, it may be time to look beyond the obvious.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Have you been experiencing pain near your lower back or where your hip meets your spine?
