Edward Joseph List, age 84, passed away peacefully in his Chesaning home on June 15, 2026, surrounded by his family. Edward had served as a police officer for the City of Saginaw. He then transitioned to General Motors as plant security until his retirement in 2008. Retirement allowed Edward to fully dedicate his time to what mattered most: celebrating life with his family, fishing, and making people smile. He will always be remembered for his kind spirit, infectious laugh, and the practical jokes he loved to play. Visitation and Services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in Chesaning.

James M. “Jim” Weisenberger of Owosso, age 69, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday June 14, 2026. He graduated from Chesaning Union High School in 1974 after attending Our Lady Parochial School. Following graduation, he worked at Century Telephone Company as a lineman. In 1979, he purchased his own farm and became a full-time farmer, following in his father’s footsteps. He married Mary Ann Bueche of Chesaning in 1981, and he continued to farm alongside his beloved wife until his passing. Jim enjoyed riding motorcycles and planned charity bike runs in Oakley and at the Shiawassee Conservation Club. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Durand. He could regularly be found cheering on his grandkids at their various interests including sports and plays, even traveling around the country to support them. Bonfires are a pastime Jim frequently enjoyed especially when his whole family gathered around it with him, which was often. Jim’s zest for life, spontaneity, sense of humor, unwavering encouragement and massive bonfires will be greatly missed. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
