Today, we join millions around the world in remembering Dolly Parton, who has died at the age of 80.

For generations, Dolly gave us more than music. She gave us stories about home, family, heartache, hope, and the people and places that shape us. Through her generosity —especially her lifelong commitment to children's literacy — she also showed how a life of extraordinary success could be accompanied by extraordinary kindness.

Her songs will continue to be sung. Her stories will continue to be told. And her impact will continue to be felt for generations.

Mrs. Jacklynn S. Rodriquez of Caro, age 66, died Tuesday, August 18, 2026. She was raised in Durand then the Owosso/Corunna area most of her life. She was united in marriage to Daniel Rodriguez and they have resided in Caro the past 5 years. Jacklynn attended Son’s Life Missionary Church online. She enjoyed old tv shows, such as I Love Lucy and Golden Girls, and playing online games, where she made a host of friends while playing. Private graveside services are planned at Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon, MI.

Scott Gerald Richmond of Chesaning, age 64, died Saturday, August 22, 2026, at My Michigan Medical Center in Saginaw with his family by his side. He was a lifelong resident of Chesaning and a 1980 graduate of Chesaning Union High School. Scott retired in 2019 from Champagne and Marx Excavating with 36 years behind the wheel of a gravel train. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Blueberry Aerie #4090 in Montrose, life member of Mid-Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association, and the Teamsters Local #406. He loved to collect and restore old tractors, especially IH. A Celebration of Scott's Life will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026, at his residence.
