Give your young teen a fun and confidence-building way to learn real-life skills this summer.

Chesapeake Regional’s Babysitting Class is a great introduction to caring for younger children and being a responsible, prepared babysitter. Students ages 12–14 will learn the basics of babysitting, how to prevent accidents, what to do in an emergency, caring for infants and toddlers, age-appropriate activities, and an introduction to CPR and choking first aid.

We’re offering the last class of the summer on Tuesday, August 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lifestyle Health & Fitness Center.

Preregistration is required, and the cost is $80. Each participant will receive a certificate and business cards after completing the course.

We're proud to have partnered for our fourth year with Chesapeake Public Schools on their Get On The Bus event yesterday. Thanks to the hard work of our Supportive Care & Community Impact team, our Health Education team and our CRMG partners we provided more than 120 school entrance and sports physicals. We also were able to connect several families with close-to-home primary care. We're happy to help make our communities healthier!

As Minority Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, Chesapeake Regional recognizes that everyone deserves access to mental health support.

Yet many minority communities continue to face barriers to care. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health, Black/African American adults were 36% less likely than U.S. adults overall to receive mental health treatment in 2024.

Let's continue raising awareness, reducing stigma and supporting conversations around mental health for all communities.
