We were honored to spend Memorial Day 2026 at among Gold Star and surviving families, service members, veterans, and supporters from Virginia Beach and surrounding areas. Running alongside this community reminds us all of the real people, families, and deeply personal sacrifices behind this day, ensuring the people we’ve lost are always remembered by name and never forgotten.

The Cortex team and their families showed up ready to honor our fallen service members, run in remembrance, and support a great cause. was one of the beneficiaries of this year‘s race, and we were proud to be there with them and . We look forward to participating in years to come.

🚨 After multiple requests from specialized military & veteran interdisciplinary programs, as well as active duty commands, we are excited to bring vision therapy to Warrior For Life Fund’s Synapse Therapy Center- led by a licensed occupational therapist with advanced post-professional training and experience in neuro-based vision rehabilitation.

Research has shown that blast exposure can impact visual acuity, binocular coordination, and visual processing, resulting in symptoms such as blurred vision, impaired tracking, reduced convergence, and difficulty with reading, scanning, and sustained visual attention. Vision rehab addresses these deficits through targeted assessment and interventions to improve functional visual performance in daily and operational tasks. 🧠 👀

Vestibular rehab isn’t just about balance: it’s about maintaining operational performance when the environment becomes unpredictable. For Special Operators, the ability to maintain visual stability, postural control, and rapid head-eye coordination in low light, dynamic, and unstable environments is critical. Deficits in vestibular and oculomotor function can impact target acquisition, movement accuracy, navigation across uneven terrain, and overall safety during high-demand tasks.
The Synpase Integrated Therapy neuro-rehabilitation program at challenges and retrains these systems across variable environments to improve stability, visual processing, and functional performance when it matters most. 🧠 👀
