ER or Walk-In Clinic? Here's a Quick Guide!

When an unexpected health concern comes up, knowing where to seek care can save time and help you get the treatment you need.

🚨 Go to the Emergency Room for:
• Chest pain or trouble breathing
• Signs of stroke
• Severe injuries or trauma
• Uncontrolled bleeding
• Any life-threatening emergency

✅ Visit the Walk-In Clinic for:
• Colds, coughs, earache, or sore throat
• Minor cuts and burns
• Sprains and strains
• Urinary tract infections or other common illnesses
• Same-day care for non-life-threatening concerns

Think of it this way:
🔴 ER = Emergency, life-threatening situations
🟢 Walk-In Clinic = Quick, same-day care for urgent but non-emergency concerns

A Swing Bed Program provides continued rehabilitation and physical therapy for patients who no longer need acute hospital care but aren't quite ready to return home. It's designed to help patients regain strength, improve mobility, and safely transition back to everyday life.

With access to our highly qualified Physical Therapist, patients can receive the care they need close to home—without the added stress of traveling away from family and support systems.

SHD’s Swing Bed Program provides:
- 24/7 nursing care
- Physical therapy services
- Individualized rehabilitation plans designed for progress and safety
- Care in a familiar, local environment
- A focus on restoring independence following surgery, illness, or injury

After a hospital stay, some patients may need additional time and support before safely returning home. Seneca Healthcare District’s Swing Bed Program is designed to provide a smooth transition from acute hospital care to independent living or other long-term care arrangements.

To improve the reliability and performance of our technology systems, scheduled maintenance and server upgrades will take place during the month of July. These upgrades may result in brief interruptions to certain hospital services, including phone systems and other technology-dependent applications, during the maintenance windows. All work has been scheduled during early morning hours to minimize impacts on patients and the community.

Scheduled Maintenance Dates:

Saturday, July 11 beginning at 2:00 a.m.

Saturday, July 18 beginning at 2:00 a.m.

Most service interruptions are expected to last no longer than four hours. Patient care services will remain available, and staff have procedures in place to ensure continuity of operations during these upgrades.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these important improvements to strengthen and modernize our technology infrastructure.

🌊Riding the Waves of Freedom for America's 250th birthday! 🇺🇸

This Fourth of July, Seneca Healthcare District was proud to set sail in the annual Chester parade with a double-decker pontoon boat float, bringing this year’s 'Waves of Freedom' theme to life! ❤️🤍💙

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and helped make the day so special. We’re especially grateful to our incredible volunteers who rode on the float and walked alongside us, sharing smiles, candy, and community spirit every step of the way.

Events like these remind us how fortunate we are to serve such an amazing community. We hope everyone enjoyed a fun, safe, and healthy Independence Day!

⛳ What a day for rural healthcare! 🏌️‍♀️

The Seneca Healthcare Foundation's Second Annual Golf Tournament welcomed 144 golfers and raised nearly $90,000 through sponsorships, ticket sales, raffles, and community donations in support of Seneca Healthcare District's new hospital and expanded healthcare services.

Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, golfers, donors, and community supporters who helped make this event one of our most successful fundraisers yet. Together, we're investing in the future of healthcare close to home.
