At Hope Therapeutic Services, our speech therapy team supports children and adults as they develop communication skills in ways that work best for them — through spoken words, signs, gestures, and AAC. We believe every child deserves to be heard, understood, and supported.

This Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating every voice and the many ways communication can look. 💕

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) helps individuals with communication challenges express themselves in different ways.

AAC can include:
• Gestures or sign language
• Picture boards or communication books
• Speech-generating devices and apps

Who benefits from AAC?
• Individuals with autism
• Cerebral palsy, apraxia
• Stroke or traumatic brain injury
• And many other communication needs

AAC does not prevent speech and may support language development, independence, and social connection.

By increasing awareness and acceptance of AAC, we can create a more inclusive community where every voice matters. 💙
