Controversies meeting is coming up and it’s a “do not miss” meeting for me. I give lectures, but it’s the in-depth discussion with the entire group that is invaluable. We discuss the best techniques, newest technologies, pearls, and insider info to bring our patients the best possible treatments. It’s a unique meeting that I look forward to every August.

Just had the most amazing family hiking trip to Iceland where the scenery was some of the most incredible we’ve ever seen and the local people couldn’t have been more welcoming. We got a quick soak in the thermal waters of the Blue Lagoon before heading home. Rich in algae and silica, it feels amazing- helps to exfoliate and has some anti-inflammatory properties too, but can be drying so after-soak moisturizer is a must. And no hair exposure since it makes the shaft brittle for a very long time. After hiking for several days, that warm water felt good on sore muscles 😊 😮‍💨

Glenstone is for anyone who loves art, architecture, or nature. If you are visiting the DMV (DC-Maryland-Virginia) metro area, this is a must-see. Jaw-dropping artwork amidst gorgeous landscapes and walking trails makes for a special day.

Let’s all get lifted! Sofwave is my top go-to treatment for non-invasive skin lifting on the face, neck, upper arms, and other body areas. I have a lot of devices in my practice (over 30!) but the Sofwave is what I use for patients on a daily basis. It delivers ultrasound energy to the part of the skin that creates the most collagen stimulation without going too deep (which has been associated with fat loss and nerve injury). It’s been very successful for my patient (and me! I’m a patient too). 😊

Had an amazing time in Bermuda at the ASDS IAC meeting where the experts in Dermatologic surgery and the Aesthetic Industry get together to discuss how to grow the field and support our patients. This is a true “meeting of the minds” but also super-fun at the same time. Even derms have fun in the sun! With a hat of course 😉

Another amazing meeting in Nashville is in the books. Such a great mix of experts in derm, plastic surgery and oculoplastic surgery. Seeing friends, teaching, and discussing the next advances in our field is not a bad way to spend a weekend. These brilliant docs are a true inspiration. 😊

That’s a wrap on the 2006 American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery meeting this past weekend in Savannah. It’s an advanced meeting where we share the new breakthroughs in skin laser and light-based treatments. I teach, and learn, and catch up with friends and colleagues. And the food in Savannah was really good too! 😊
