In honor of our nation's 250th Birthday, I will say the quiet part out loud about FREEDOM.

My clients come before my employers, always. I would like to ditch my employers. 🤣

No offense but my clients treat me much better than any employer ever has, … and my statements have very little to do with money.

My preference for clients has everything to do with feeling valued and respected for my skills. 🩺⚖️ I built my LNC firm on my own.

I like being self-sufficient and not having a middleman. My “supervisors” are younger & know less than I do… it’s sort of demeaning to answer to them.

🌊 It seems risky to commit to a niche when you’re a clinician with 35 years of clinical experience in multiple genres; however, generalists are often invisible in this ever-growing sea of LNCs.

👻 Since invisibility is *not on the to-do list for LawMed, LLC in 2026 or beyond, we have made a decision to specialize in on the side for . ⚖️

🎯 While Sharon remains objective & this firm is capable of opining on *many Clinical issues *outside of her main areas of practice,…

🩺 She has chosen acute Care, critical care, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities to focus on.

🤔 However, Please keep in mind that Sharon also *currently works in Home Health on long shifts, with medically fragile patients, has had Supervisory responsibilities with DD waiver patients, (which means the intellectually & developmentally disabled population), and even inmates in Correctional facilities.

There IS no shortage of nurses, (myth).
There is only a shortage of nurses who:
1. Do not want to be exploited by the C-suite with dangerous understaffing.

2. Do not want to get sued after accepting unreasonable assignments.

3. Do not want to get assaulted by patients/families and then blamed for it.

4. Do not want to jump through hoops for nasty HR representatives.

5. Do not want to get a 10th. MMR booster b/c our mumps titer is low...

6. Do not want dangerous shots without study data in exchange for work.

7. Do not want "supervisors" who don't know how to lead effectively.

8. Do not want a punitive vs. supportive work environment.

9. Do not want completely disorganized onboarding process.

10. Do not want to be talked down to like a new grad when taking a job.

in this country are being exploited, abused, and assaulted every day. Something has got to give. Stand up for yourselves. What you don’t protest you agree to. Remember that.

I’ve been in practice for 35 years and I’m still clinically active. So WTH!? I was just asked to work a 12 hour training shift under heavy scrutiny with a high Liability pediatric case, for ***MINIMUM WAGE. 🤯

***This is in New York. It’s expensive to live here. I can’t give up 12 hours of my clinical time for minimum wage when I can work for someone *else that day for the full rate.

I have bills to pay and unfortunately for them, I know my worth as a clinician.
Nurses: Erect boundaries with employers, even if it displeases them when you do so.
