Love this post! People don't understand this type of grief until they have to experience it:
Grieving Moms Don't Look Broken
They see the smile... but never the strength it took to wear it.
They hear us laugh... but never the tears we cried before we walked through the door.
They watch us work, care for our families, show up for everyone else... never realizing we're surviving a pain that never clocks out.
Every morning, we wake up carrying yesterday, while pretending today doesn't hurt.
We're expected to keep going, because the world never stopped the day our child did.
So we keep moving. Not because we're okay... but because love still calls us to keep living.
Behind every smile is a name we whisper. Behind every heartbeat is a child we'll never stop loving.
We are not healed. We are not the same. We are simply mothers... learning how to carry an uncarryable loss.
If you meet a grieving mother, be gentle.
You may be looking at someone who has mastered the art of falling apart... without making a sound.
