AN ENTIRE MONTH WITHOUT A HOMICIDE. 🙏🏽🧡
In the middle of summer: when violence historically increases: our community experienced an entire month without one homicide. This is unheard of, and the work of our CVI outreach team, Peacekeepers, and the entire G.O.D. family played a major role.
This is what happens when communities are given the resources to protect and heal themselves.
As a gun violence survivor, this means more to me than words can express. I know the pain of loss. Every day without a homicide means another mother received a phone call from her child instead of the call that changes a family forever.
This is Pita’s Promise for Peace in motion. 🕊️
To every outreach worker, Peacekeeper, and community member who showed up: this victory belongs to all of us.
As our slogan says: “We Win When we Invest In Eachother.”
The work isn't over, but today we celebrate proof that community violence intervention works. Investment works. Healing works. Love works.
