Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.

This past weekend, I was grateful to stand alongside Hope Alliance of NWI and so many people from across our community to remember the lives lost to overdose and support those who are still struggling.

Behind every statistic is a person, a family, and a story that matters.

If you’ve lost someone to overdose and feel comfortable sharing, please leave their name or a picture in the comments. Let’s honor their lives and make sure they are never forgotten.

For anyone still struggling, there is hope. There is help. Recovery is possible.

Big news!

I’m excited to share that I’ve officially joined Hickory Recovery Network as Regional Director of Outreach & Treatment Placement.

I’ve worked closely with Hickory for nearly eight years and have seen firsthand the work this team does throughout Indiana. When the opportunity came to officially join them, the time felt right.

I’m truly grateful for my time at Banyan Treatment Centers, the relationships I built, and the people I worked alongside.

I’m looking forward to continuing to serve communities across Indiana, strengthening existing relationships, building new ones, and above all, playing a small part in helping people who are struggling.

Hickory accepts all forms of Indiana Medicaid, including Presumptive Eligibility (PE). We also work with individuals without insurance on a case-by-case basis.

The title may be new, but the work isn’t. If someone needs help, I’m here.

June has become a double birthday month for me.

On June 15th, I celebrated 11 years of continuous recovery.

On June 26th, I turned 34.

One day marks the life I was born into. The other marks the life recovery gave back to me.

I’m grateful to still be here. Grateful for my kids, my family, my friends, and the people who have loved and supported me through every version of myself.

Today, I had the opportunity to speak with people in an outpatient program who are still fighting for their recovery. Moments like that remind me why this life matters so much.

Birthdays in recovery hit different.

They mean I get to help instead of hurt.

They mean I get to remember every moment.

They mean I get to be fully present with my kids.

They mean I’m not running, hiding, hopeless, or causing harm.

They mean I get to show up for life today.

Recovery gave me purpose, direction, and the opportunity to use my experience to help someone else keep going.

I don’t take any of it for granted.

Here’s to 34, another year of life, and another year of staying grateful. 🙏🏼
