July is UV Safety Month and a great reminder to protect your skin while enjoying time outdoors.

If you have celiac disease, you may wonder whether sunscreen needs to be gluten free. While some sunscreens may include gluten-containing ingredients, gluten is only harmful for people with celiac disease when ingested.

To reduce the chance of accidental ingestion, wash your hands after applying sunscreen and avoid getting sunscreen in or around your mouth. Gluten-free sunscreen options are also available.

Stay sun safe this summer!
