DBT Skills for Friends and Family Group
Tuesday 6-7:30pm (meeting virtually for the foreseeable future)
The group will be run by Christine Nolan who is a CADC practicum student at GLTC and Victoria Kessinger, LCPC who is a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician.
This group is for friends, family members or partners of someone who struggles with addictive behaviors. Members of this group will build skills to support their loved one in their recovery while also decreasing their own feelings of depression, burnout and grief that can manifest while supporting someone in treatment. Based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Substance Use Disorders (DBT-SUDS) and The Family Connections Program, this group will help clients make and sustain the changes needed to support both themselves and their loved one.
In the DBT Skills for Friends and Family Group, members will learn mindfulness skills, interpersonal effectiveness skills and how to use the knowledge of the principles of behaviorism to support both themselves and their loved one on their journey in recovery.
BCBS PPO, United/Optum and Out of pocket cost estimates available during the intake process (1-3 virtual individual sessions to complete orientation and group readiness assessment).
