This spring session Le Village Cowork - Lakeview was so amazing! We had one toddler request a construction theme and made it happen! We even got to use outdoor space for sensory play. The kids loved the digging, beep-beep-beeping, and building tall towers out of blocks.

If you're looking for a personal trainer/health coach in Chicago, look no further than ! I have been so lucky to get to work out with Taylor weekly since the new year.

She has helped me get stronger - which is sooo important for a late-30s woman like me (!) - and feel more confident in my body. I love her creative use of gym equipment that keeps workouts interesting and fun (actually). Thank you, Taylor!!! 🏋️‍♀️

My toddler group had so much fun with our 🐶 pets🐱 theme this week! Using the Critter Clinic (one of the best toys!), we worked on requesting "open," using a key, and making the sounds of the animals we found!

Tip: when playing with animal toys or reading about animals, model the sound they make ("Doggie says woof woof!") instead of asking what sound it makes.

👉 Take the pressure off your little one by reducing questions and quizzing, and playfully modeling instead. If you want to assess what they know, say, "Doggie says..." and leave a 5-second pause to see if they fill it in. If not, put on your silly "woof woof woof!" and move on. 😊

Back in October when things got really bad with ICE in Chicago, I was inspired by to start a morning rush hour protest in my neighborhood. My kids and neighbors got involved, and we used our collective voices to demand dignity, due process, and compassion for all people.

What has happened since then is even more horrific and devastating than I could imagine. For those of us with any degree of empathy and respect for our fellow humans, it is completely overwhelming.

So each day I teach my children about kindness and inclusion, love and compassion. My work as a speech therapist focuses on connection, joy, and communication, reassuring kids about their safety and security and ensuring they have a means of communicating. There is a lot of work to be done, but we all play a role in making this world better. 💔

Sometimes you're stuck on a bus with a toddler who didn't take a long enough afternoon nap. Try this to keep them busy and relatively happy (screen-free)...

🎵 Sing a song they like. "Wheels on the Bus" is perfect! Toddlers love doing all the movements and sounds, and you can keep adding verses as long as they're interested.

🚍 Talk about where you're going, encourage them to listen for your stop, and get ready to pull the cord or push the button. So fun for kids!

👵 There is always an older lady who wants to chat with your child. Let them entertain him or her! If you're lucky, you'll get someone who wants to make silly faces and sounds while you take a breather. The interaction might just brighten everyone's day. ❤️
