Ever heard of the "8th sense"? 🧠

Interoception is our ability to notice internal body signals β€” hunger, thirst, needing the bathroom, feeling anxious or tired. For some kids, these signals are hard to read, which can look like meltdowns "out of nowhere" or trouble with potty training.

The good news? Interoception awareness can be built, just like any other skill. πŸ’›

The meltdown at pickup isn’t the problem β€” it’s the receipt for a day of holding it together.

Sensory overload at school rarely looks like overload. It looks like fidgeting, tag-picking, hands over ears, or a kid who says β€œfine” and then falls apart in the car.

Which one do you see most? πŸ‘‡

Summer's winding down and so is your chance to cash in those punches! β˜€οΈβ³

Our Summer Punchcard Program wraps up Friday, August 21st β€” so if your card isn't full yet, now's the time to squeeze in those last few visits and earn that Starbucks or Dunkin' gift card. β˜•οΈπŸŽ

Haven't started a card yet? You can still grab one at the front desk and get punching before time runs out!

Have you completed yours or are you close? πŸ‘‡

Swipe through to meet a few of our therapists β€” at work AND at home. Because the same people who cheer on your kiddo's big wins are also just... people. πŸ˜„

People often ask what we actually do at Sensable Kids.
Here’s the real answer.❀️

Yes, we offer occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language therapy, and developmental therapy.
But what we’re really doing goes so much deeper than that.

We are building foundational skills. The kind that help children move through the world with greater ease, confidence, and independence β€” in the classroom, at home, and everywhere in between.

And the most important thing we do? We help children feel good about themselves.

Every single child who walks through our doors is capable. We know that. We believe that with everything we have. And our greatest joy is watching them start to believe it too.

If you have a child who could use that kind of support
β€” we would love to meet your family.

At SenAble Kids, we don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. We meet each child exactly where they are β€” whether that means swinging, stacking, climbing, or just taking it slow on a hard day.

Wondering what your child's first session might look like? We'd love to walk you through it.

Most people think occupational therapy is just about fine motor skills β€” but OT goes so much deeper than that. πŸ‘‡

Hi, I'm Lori, a pediatric occupational therapist with 25 years of experience, and today I'm breaking down exactly how OT supports gross motor development in kids.

Here's what we're actually looking at:

Foundation & posture β€” everything starts here. A child needs a stable core and strong postural control before any other movement skill can develop.

Balance & body awareness β€” knowing where your body is in space is essential for every physical task, from sitting at a desk to navigating a playground.

Vision β€” your eyes and your body work together more than you think. Visual processing plays a huge role in how kids move through the world.

Motor planning β€” the ability to figure out how to move your body to complete a new task. This is a big one.

Timing & rhythmicity β€” movement isn't just about strength. It's about coordinating the right movement at the right moment.

Projected action sequences β€” anticipating what your body needs to do next before it happens. Think catching a ball or navigating stairs.

Gross motor development is a whole system β€” and when one piece is off, it affects everything else. This is exactly the kind of work we do every day at Sensable Kids. πŸ’š

Save this and share it with a parent who has questions about their child's movement and coordination. πŸ“© DM us or visit the link in bio to learn more.
