A phone call. An accident. A heart that stops without warning. An illness that moves faster than anyone expected. A death you had no opportunity to prepare for.
Suddenly, the person who was woven into the ordinary fabric of your life is gone, while the rest of the world somehow keeps moving.
Sudden grief can feel unreal because, for a while, it is impossible for the mind to fully comprehend. You may feel numb. You may replay the last conversation again and again. You may find yourself expecting them to walk through the door. You may be overwhelmed by what-ifs and questions that have no answers.
None of this follows a predictable path.

Life can grow around the loss. But love doesn't disappear, and neither does the relationship. We find new ways to carry that person with us.
Our latest blog looks at what sudden loss does to the mind and body, why grief so rarely resembles the "stages" we've been taught to expect, and how we begin to live inside a reality we never would have chosen.
