🩸👣 HIGH BLOOD SUGAR CAN SILENTLY DAMAGE YOUR FEET!

Did you know that high blood sugar can damage the nerves and blood vessels in your feet, sometimes without you even realizing it?

One of the biggest concerns for individuals living with diabetes is diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage). This can cause numbness, tingling, burning, or loss of sensation.

👣 Why is this important?

When you lose sensation, something as simple as a blister, cut, or callus can go unnoticed and develop into a serious complication.

🩸 Diabetes can also affect circulation, slowing the healing process and increasing the risk of infections, foot ulcers, and tissue damage.

⚠️ Changes you should never ignore:

🦶 Numbness, tingling, or burning
🦶 Thick calluses or cracked skin
🦶 Cuts or blisters that heal slowly
🦶 Changes in skin color or temperature

💅🦠 Did You Know You Can Get an Ingrown Fingernail Too? 😳

Most people associate ingrown nails with toenails, but they can also happen to your fingernails!

An ingrown fingernail occurs when the edge of the nail grows into or presses against the surrounding skin, causing pain, redness, and swelling. This can sometimes lead to paronychia, an infection of the skin surrounding the nail.

⚠️ What causes it?

🔹 Cutting fingernails too short or rounding the corners excessively.

🔹 Nail biting or picking at the skin around the nails.

🔹 Aggressive manicures or cutting the cuticles.

🔹 Trauma or repeated pressure on the fingernail.

🔹 Hangnails or small breaks in the skin that allow bacteria to enter.

🦠 Signs of paronychia include redness, tenderness, swelling, warmth, and sometimes pus around the nail.

Never attempt to dig out an ingrown nail or drain an infection yourself. If you notice pus, increasing pain, or swelling, seek medical attention.

👣🔨 She Thought I Was Cutting Too Much… Until I Showed Her Why! 😳🦶

This client had been dealing with severe nail dystrophy and onycholysis for YEARS! Her toenail was thickened, discolored, and significantly detached from the nail bed.

As we carefully trimmed away the loose portion, she started panicking and said, "Do you have to cut that far?!" 😳 Once we explained why, she understood and felt much better.

But that wasn't all! 👣 She also had two painful corns—one protruding from her foot and another at the tip of her third toe. Both were carefully removed!

💜 Although she was initially disheartened about losing part of her nail, she was especially grateful to have those uncomfortable corns taken care of.

This client had been dealing with severe nail dystrophy, onycholysis (nail separation), and thickened nail buildup for years.

During his Advanced Wellness Pedicure, we carefully reduced the thickened nails, trimmed away the detached portion, and addressed two troublesome corns—one protruding from the foot and another at the tip of the third toe. 🦶

✨ Removing loose, damaged nail when appropriate helps reduce trapped debris and the risk of further injury. Proper corn care also helps relieve pressure and discomfort.
