You’re Not a Machine!
It’s convenient to think of our bodies as machines. Consider the increasingly sophisticated computers and robots that now do what humans previously did. Seeing ourselves as machines overlooks one critical difference. You and I are self-healing. Machines aren’t.
It’s this self-healing capacity that intrigued the very first chiropractor. Why was it that one man would get sick, when another working beside him, exposed to the same germs did not? This led D.D. Palmer to question the prevailing germ theory of the time. “It must not be the germ, but something intrinsic to the man,” he surmised.
This fear of germs still lingers in our culture. We mistakenly believe that killing germs will produce health. Yet, healthy individuals are equipped to handle just about any germ that
comes our way. In fact, your body is doing it right now without a single conscious thought.

I had a pinched nerve in my jaw that was very painful and I couldn’t even chew. I suffered with this for a year. My dentist ruled out infection or injury so my M.D. put me on pain medication. The medicine made me dizzy and disorientated. I was afraid of falling and had to hold the wall just to walk. I am a very active 87 year-old and I felt trapped so I stopped taking the medication. As a result I had to endure the pain. A friend of mine who lectures at Stanford told me to try acupuncture so I went to see Dr. Christine Hoch. After my first treatment I immediately felt better. That night I had some jaw tingling and Dr. Hoch told me to place a warm compress on it. Can you believe the pain went away? After only two days and one acupuncture treatment all my pain was gone! I called my friend and thanked her for the great advice. When I went to my M.D’s office I handed over the pain medication. The nurse was stunned and confused. I told her about my acupuncture treatments. The nurse asked if the needles hurt and I told her only like a mosquito bite! I was very impressed with Dr. Hoch’s office and my results and now I tell EVERYONE!

Spring is very near! Be sure to choose some plants and flowers that are native to your area and will support our pollinators. PLANT THESE TO HELP SAVE THE BEES: 21 BEE-FRIENDLY PLANTS by Hannah Rosengren. Do you have more bee-friendly planting suggestions?

Make sure you're not unknowingly buying bee-killing plants pre-treated with neonicotinoid insecticides from stores like Lowe's, Walmart and Home Depot. That's right, these stores, and others, are selling plants pre-treated with neonics that are killing our pollinating friends. Home Depot has stepped up to require their suppliers to label plants pre-treated with neonics - thanks Home Depot. But we need them to take it further! Ask your retailer to phase out the use of neonics on plants. Reach out to your favorite nursery, or suppliers to stores like Lowe's Home Improvement, Walmart, and The Home Depot, and ask them to dump the neonics. Your voice makes a difference!
