Six. šŸ¤

Six years ago today, I went to work like any other morning, still two weeks away from my due date. By 9 a.m., my water had broken. I drove myself home and spent the next few hours laboring there while a huge storm whipped around outside. I can still picture looking out the window between contractions and watching our grill tipping over 🫣. Apparently changes in barometric pressure and babies sometimes have interesting timing, and Jackson clearly decided that was his day to arrive.

And somehow, six years later, Mother Nature gave us an almost identical backdrop for his birthday. šŸ˜‚ We had plans for an amusement park today, but instead got storms, tornado warnings, and a leaking basement. At one point I looked outside at the wind throwing everything around and had such a vivid flashback to the day he was born.

Plans changed, but the day ended up being pretty perfect anyway. We stayed home building all the new LEGO sets, played arcade games, picked out his birthday cake, and just enjoyed the day together. After a big weekend celebrating both kids with so many people we love, there was something really sweet about today being simple.

This boy made me a mom six years ago. I couldn’t have known then how much becoming his mom would crack my heart open, stretch me, teach me, and change me.

Jackson, you are thoughtful, curious, sensitive, hilarious, and so completely yourself. Watching more and more of who you are unfold every year is one of my favorite parts of being your mom.

Six years of you, six years of motherhood, and somehow another birthday marked by a storm. šŸ¤ I couldn’t feel luckier or more blessed to be the one who gets to call you mine.

Happy 6th birthday, Jackson. ā¤ļø

Some of the most meaningful seasons are the quiet ones.

The seasons where life doesn’t look perfect.
Where questions still exist.
Where healing is still unfolding.
Where you’re learning to trust one faithful step at a time.

Today, I was baptized, surrounded by my family, with my two children beside me.

Not because I suddenly have all the answers or have life figured out, but because over the years I’ve experienced God’s faithfulness through joy, heartbreak, loss, hope, and new beginnings.

For much of my life, I believed love had to be earned through perfection. I’m slowly learning that grace was never something to earn, it has always been something to receive.

Maybe that’s why the name Wild Grace, for my practice has always meant so much to me.

To me, wild isn’t about chaos. It’s about having the courage to live authentically, to ask hard questions, to embrace growth, and to become more fully who God uniquely created us to be.

And grace is the compassion we extend to ourselves and to others along the way, the reminder that we don’t have to be perfect to be deeply loved.

Today reminded me that both can exist at the same time.

My hope, both personally and through Wild Grace, is that we continue becoming more of our authentic, genuine, untamed selves, living with courage, leading with compassion, and offering ourselves the same grace we so freely give to everyone else.

Because healing isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about gently uncovering who we’ve always been beneath the fear, the expectations, and the striving.

And through every season, I’m grateful for the reminder that none of us have to walk this journey alone.

Still growing.
Still healing.
Still becoming. šŸ¤

Four years ago today, my sweet Sage came into this world, and from the very beginning, she has been nothing short of extraordinary. šŸ¤

What many people don’t know is that when I was eight weeks pregnant with her, I was living in an ICU room with my mom that month as she fought for her life. It was one of the most uncertain seasons I’ve ever walked through. Somehow, in the middle of fear, grief, and hope, this little girl kept growing... surviving on cafeteria pbj sandwiches.

And honestly…that has always been Sage.

She has a fire in her that refuses to quit.

She’s determined, fearless, wildly independent, endlessly curious, and has enough sass and sparkle to light up every room she walks into. She keeps me on my toes daily, reminds me to laugh, challenges me in all the best ways, and somehow manages to make life infinitely more colorful.

She is, without question, my spirit animal.

Motherhood has stretched me, humbled me, healed parts of me I didn’t know needed healing, and shown me strength I never knew I had. Watching this little girl become exactly who she is meant to be has been one of my greatest privileges.

Happy 4th birthday to my sweet, fiery girl. Never lose that tenacity. Never let the world dim your light. Keep being brave, keep asking questions, keep dreaming big, and keep reminding all of us that sometimes the strongest souls come in the tiniest bodies.

I love you beyond words, Sage. What a gift it is to be your mama.

Motherhood is beautiful. And also hard.

Sometimes it looks like baby snuggles, laughter in the kitchen, sticky fingers, bedtime cuddles, and little voices calling for you all day long.

Sometimes it looks like overstimulation, anxiety, guilt, grief, identity shifts, exhaustion, loneliness, or wondering if you are doing enough.

For many women, motherhood brings joy and love, but also healing, change, loss, and growing pains no one fully prepares you for.

To the moms who feel deeply fulfilled, the moms quietly struggling, the moms navigating infertility, loss, postpartum challenges, estrangement, or motherhood after separation, divorce, or death, and the moms carrying so much more than anyone sees... I see you.

Motherhood is not meant to be carried perfectly. And you do not have to carry it alone.

This year has reminded me, both personally and professionally, that motherhood is often found in the ordinary moments. The bedtime routines, the snack requests, the endless questions, the little hands reaching for yours, even when you are tired. Somehow, the days can feel incredibly long and yet heartbreakingly short all at once. It is messy and sacred and stretching, and what a privilege it is to love our children through every season, while also learning and growing ourselves.

Today, I hope you give yourself a little extra grace.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the women in every season of motherhood, the joyful, the heavy, and everything in between. You are doing better than you think šŸ¤

Hi friends šŸ¤
It’s been a while.

I took a quiet step back these past 9ish months, not to disappear, but to tend to real life, healing, and the many transitions that don’t always fit neatly into squares or captions.

This past year stretched me, humbled me, and reshaped me in ways I didn’t expect. It broke parts of me open and helped rebuild others with more honesty, softness, and intention. I said goodbye to an old version of myself, the one that pushed through, overgave, and stayed quiet, and welcomed a version that feels more rooted, more awake, and more aligned with who I’ve always been underneath it all.

As a mom and a clinician, this season deepened my understanding of identity shifts, nervous system care, grief, resilience, and what it really means to heal while still showing up for our children, our work, and ourselves. I’ve been quieter here, but very present with my clients, walking alongside them with even more compassion, steadiness, and lived understanding.

The start of a new year feels like a soft exhale. Not a reset or a rush forward, but an invitation to move with more intention, more self trust, and more grace. That’s the energy I’m carrying into this next chapter.

I’m slowly finding my way back here, gently and without pressure, and I’m so grateful for this community that has always felt more like a circle than an audience.

Wishing you a year that meets you with steadiness, healing, and moments of real presence. Thank you for being here. I’m excited to reconnect, share, and continue this work together in a way that honors real life, real motherhood, and real healing.

With so much gratitude,
Vickie šŸ¤
