At the PGA Korn Ferry Tour last week, we were proud to once again serve as the official orthopedic staff for the Evans Scholars Invitational tournament at The Glen Club in Glenview, IL.

Whether you’re a professional athlete striving to perform at your best or someone simply looking to get back to work, family, or the activities you love, we at Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine believe deeply that everyone deserves access to the same high-quality orthopedic care.

Thank you to over 100 of our partners, colleagues, and community members for attending our gathering in the VIP tent at the 18th green! We truly enjoyed the conversations and opportunity to build new and lasting connections. A special thanks to the golfers and to our good friend Dayo Odeyingbo of the Chicago Bears for stopping by and spending time with the attendees.

If you weren’t able to join us this year, we hope to see you at the next Evans Scholars Invitational and at our other functions over the next year. Until then, we will continue doing what we love: helping people move better, recover stronger, and live healthier lives.

Today is a proud moment for our team at Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.

We are excited to celebrate the successful completion of our first three MISHA® Knee System procedures as part of the MOTION RCT.

Last Wednesday marked an exciting milestone for Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine at Glen Oaks Hospital, where Dr. Mark Cavalenes successfully completed the hospital’s first Velys Robotic assisted Total Knee Replacement Surgery, utilizing advanced robotic technology to perform a total knee replacement.

This achievement reflects the shared commitment of Genesis and Glen Oaks Hospital to precision, innovation, and improving patient outcomes through cutting-edge orthopedic care. By integrating advanced robotic-assisted techniques, our physicians continue to raise the standard for joint replacement surgery in the communities we serve.

Ever wonder how surgeons reattach a torn biceps tendons? 💪🏥🦴

A distal biceps tendon repair restores the connection between the biceps muscle and the radius after a tear. Symptoms of a tear include sudden pain, bruising, and loss of strength.

These x-rays show the tendon reattached at its insertion on the biceps tuberosity using a small metallic button. Swipe to see an intraoperative view and Dr. Horner testing for tension and stability!
