The most common wellness mistake I see is people trying to do everything at once.
New routines, new habits, new standards, all layered on top of an already full life. It usually starts with motivation, but it rarely leads to consistency.

Sustainable wellness is not built through intensity. It is built through focus.

When we simplify the goal, everything becomes more doable:

▪️ One habit, not ten
▪️ One change, not a complete reset
▪️ One small win that can actually be maintained

The goal is not to do wellness perfectly. It is to make it livable.

Take a moment to finish this sentence:This week, I intend to…Intentions don't have to be big to be meaningful.

Burnout doesn't happen overnight, and neither does recovery. Recognizing the early signs can help you make small changes before stress takes a bigger toll on your health and well-being.

Many people think that if you can't do it perfectly, it's not worth doing.

The truth is:
▪️ Missing a day doesn't erase your progress.
▪️ Starting again is part of the process.
▪️ Small, consistent choices matter more than perfect ones.

The goal isn't perfection. It's creating habits you can return to for life.

Feeling uninspired at work? It could be a sign of burnout, not boredom.

Sometimes, small changes, like trying something new, shifting your routine, or adding more joy outside of work, can help you regain your energy and perspective.

Summer has a way of creating space.

Calendars open up a bit. Routines loosen. There is more space to notice what feels aligned and what no longer does.

Instead of pushing through at full speed, this is a natural moment to pause and reassess priorities with more clarity and less pressure.

Not by adding more to your list, but by asking better questions:

▪️ What is actually supporting the life and work you want right now?
▪️ What feels like obligation, not intention?
▪️ What deserves more of your energy in this season?

Sometimes clarity does not come from doing more. It comes from allowing enough space to see things differently.

Some of my favorite wellness lessons come from my golden retriever, Daisy. 🐾

She rests when she's tired.
She moves every day.
She gets outside.
She's fully present.

As humans, we often make wellness feel much more complicated than it needs to be. We chase the perfect routine, the latest trend, or the next productivity hack.

But sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is simplify.

We spend so much of our day connected to technology, but constant notifications and screen time can quietly drain our focus, energy, and well-being.

In my latest article for ABA Litigation News, I share why taking intentional breaks from technology doesn't mean disconnecting from your responsibilities. It means creating space to recharge, think more clearly, and be more present in both your work and personal life.

If your schedule feels packed, start with 10 minutes. Small daily actions can help boost energy, reduce stress, and create momentum for healthier habits.

I am grateful for opportunities to speak with leaders who are committed to creating healthier, more sustainable workplaces.

Thank you, Dan, for the kind words and for the opportunity to be part of the Wellbeing at Work World Summit in Chicago. It was a pleasure to engage with such thoughtful professionals and facilitate conversations around leadership, well-being, and preventing burnout in high-performance environments.

One of my favorite parts of these workshops is the interaction. The best insights often come from the experiences, questions, and perspectives shared by participants. I appreciate everyone who contributed to the discussion and look forward to continuing these important conversations.
