Happy Memorial Day to All,

We Pray,

Most eternal God, as Americans, we want to thank you for this great country. We are not proud, but humbled, that in your divine sovereignty we were born or naturalized in such a nation as this. Thank you for those serving and who have served in the military that protect this country of ours. Thank you for those men and women in our military services who were willing to give their lives and who gave their lives to fight to keep this country free.
We make this prayer through Christ out Lord,

Amen.

This afternoon, I had the privilege of laying to rest twenty four unborn babies—each one deeply loved and mourned.

Behind each of these graves is a mother and father carrying a loss that words simply can't describe It was a reminder of how fragile and precious life truly is.

I would like to thank OSF Little Company of Mary Hospital and The Archdiocese of Chicago for their compassion and partnership in ensuring these babies were given a dignified burial. Unfortunately, every four months, with each other's help and coordination, we provide these services to help alleviate any additional burdens on the parents.

If you could, please take a moment today to say a prayer for the unborn, and especially for the mothers and fathers who are grieving, the grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins who never had the chance to see these children grow. They need strength, comfort, and peace more than anything, and there is nothing stronger than a community coming together to pray for them.
