While I doubt it will find anyone this post has not already reached, I wanted to share my public post about an UNSAFE PERSON in the Chicago Photography, Cosplay, and Convention communities. Feel free to read it or don't but please know that I am 100% serious when I state that I cannot associate or work with anyone who continues to associate with this man. His statements after he was outed have continued to show that the ONLY person he cares about is HIMSELF and he will continue lying or omitting the truth.

I tackled all of the pulling of bolted and done for the season edibles, pruned the living heck out of the unruly ones, and deadheaded the others. I also hacked down an assload of stinkweed and pulled a ton of what I THINK is Oxalis but am not sure of. All I know is that it was trying to murder everything in our mushroom garden and I am not having that. I also planted some new herbs, beets, radish, and lettuces. Tomorrow is time to pot up the new annuals, sink the established perennials into the ground, and harvest things! You can't tell from the aerial view here but this yard was looking jungle-like.

Today's garden harvest. Two kinds of basil, 3 kinds of mint, 2 kinds of chives, the last of the garlic, beets, our first green zebra tomato, green onions, an insane amount of catnip, an even more insane amount of garden sage and white sage! The giant pile of greens includes red lettuce, 2 kinds of kale, 2 kinds of swiss chard, collards, and some broccoli greens.After the drought conditions we were having, all this rain the past few days has created some abundance! And yes I decided to use my size 6.5 (US) for scale.

I have been both insanely busy and dealing with a lot of health issues. Over the next few days and weeks I will be photo dumping to make up for it. For now, enjoy some of our native and edible plants growing in the front yard! We have echinacea, two kinds of yarrow, bee balm, nasturtium, and calendula pictured here!

Late post because I am a night owl always but back to herb life! Here is my latest haul (missing the bag of Tulsi I had to special order because they were put in shop) from my favorite herb shop here in Chicago. I got all of this right before we left for Ohio for the holidays and so I haven't done a full unboxing/refill. I was thinking of maybe doing some filming as I got through what I purchased and put it all away in my apothecary. Is that something that would interest folks? Let me know! I know video is where it's at these days but reels aren't long enough usually for this kind of thing. Should I make a Tik Tok and start doing content there? I don't know! That being said, this herb shop is roughly a mile from my home and is run by the nicest Polish lady ever. If you are in the Chicago area go visit Monk's Herb Center on Milwaukee in Jefferson Park for all your herb needs. If you AREN'T in the Chicago area go buy all your stuff on their website and have it shipped! They do mostly organic items, have reasonable prices and offer so much more than just loose herbs!

P.S. All those silver bags you see in the photos are bulk organic herbs from small farms and other reputable sources.

Will get back to my herb posting life after this but wanted to share that we took in this emergency foster over the weekend. He is seriously one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met and once he gets weight back on him, he will be magnificent. He will be up for adoption in a few weeks so if you are in the Chicago area and looking for a gorgeous Mastiff mix that is already fully potty trained, crate trained, and takes commands well? My shop is currently on hiatus as I am re-evaluating what I want to do moving forward. (You can still find my stuff over at though!) That doesn't mean I haven't been busy. I am going to spend the next few days showing you some of the things this dance educator and herbalist has been doing. First up? My preparation for the heart of cold and flu season: elderberry syrup, herb infused hot and sour soup (that I freeze in batches to thaw when needed), and fire c***r! Most of the bottles of syrup went to loved ones (but I did keep one for us) but the soup and fire c***r are alllll for meeeeee. I have already been making use of my syrup and soup as I am currently battling an obnoxious sinus infection from the constant temp and pressure changes here in the Midwest. Stay tuned to see what else I have up my sleeve!

I haven't been super active here lately as my Dance Program has been pure chaos BUT I did manage to take part in ONE holiday market. It still counts if it is at your day job right? Anyhow come visit us down at for free coffee, holiday tunes and all manner of crafty goods. We are here until 3pm-ish!
