Despite the rain this past Wednesday, the Northwestern University and Northwestern Memorial Radiology staff enjoyed an architecture boat tour as a well-deserved team-building outing.

Fun fact: Much of Streeterville, including the area where Northwestern Memorial Hospital now stands, was once under Lake Michigan. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Chicago expanded its shoreline through a combination of landfill projects, natural sand accumulation, and fill material that included debris from the Great Chicago Fire!

Exciting advancement in radiomics research!

A recently published article by Dr. Yuri Velichko and colleagues introduces a multiscale radiomics framework called GLAM (Gray Level Affinity Metrics). By adapting rigorous concepts from statistical physics and mathematics, GLAM enables the quantification of tumor heterogeneity across a continuous range of length scales, offering a novel approach to characterizing complex tumor biology and potentially enhancing precision medicine research.
