Reasons I love using sensory bins ⬇️

Because one simple activity can target SO many communication goals while keeping therapy hands-on, engaging, and easy to adapt for different students.

Here are a few ways I use them:

Vocabulary - naming and describing themed objects
AAC - modeling core words like more, see, open...
WH questions - What did you find? Where was it? What color is it?
Following directions - “Find the small pumpkin"
Expanding utterances - moving from single words to phrases and sentences
Prepositions & concepts - put it in, under, next to, behind, big, little, etc.
Bilingual language development - introducing and reinforcing vocabulary across English and Spanish
Speech sounds - choosing target words based on each student’s goals

Our Stuttering Affirmation Deck is coming SOON!

It’s been over a YEAR in the making, and we are beyond excited to finally share this much-needed resource with you!

Bilingual Speechie is so excited to collaborate with Ana from an award-winning SLP and expert in the stuttering field, to create a neurodiversity-affirming resource that celebrates stuttering, encourages self-advocacy, and empowers people who stutter to embrace their voices. ❤️

And this is just the beginning! We'll be going LIVE on Instagram to share the story behind this collaboration, give you a closer look at the deck, and talk about why neurodiversity-affirming intervention is SO important when working with people who stutter .

We kicked off fall at Jack’s Pumpkin Pop-Up , and there were SO many opportunities to build language in English and Spanish! 🧡

If you’re looking for a fun fall outing in Chicago, add Jack’s Pumpkin Pop-Up to your bucket list! There were so many activities for the kids, and plenty of photo ops!

And remember parents, language learning doesn’t have to feel like therapy. Some of the best opportunities happen when we’re simply playing, exploring, and making memories together!
