In conjunction with the University of Illinois at Chicago and the Angiogenesis Foundation, the American College of Wound Healing and Tissue Repair (ACWHTR) is a non-profit organization committed to fostering the education of medical professionals including physicians, podiatrists, nurses and physical therapists in the field of wound care. The goal of the organization is to implement a formal wound

care training program and to eventually designate wound care as a board-certified medical specialty.
