Retaining your most experienced women is not a wellness initiative. It is a business strategy. And the companies that understand this are already winning.

Menopause affects women at the height of their careers, and most workplaces have no framework, no language, and no support in place for them. The result is that talented, experienced women quietly step back at the exact moment their organizations need them most.

But that is changing.

I sat down with Kim Hart and April Haberman — co-founders of and two of the most important voices leading this conversation, to talk about what forward-thinking companies are already doing differently, what menopause-inclusive workplaces actually look like, and how midlife women can start this conversation where they work right now.

This is not a problem without a solution. It is a conversation whose time has come.
And the women leading it, in boardrooms, in HR offices, and on podcasts like this one, are changing everything.

If you are a midlife woman at work, this episode will make you feel seen and equipped.

If you are an employer or HR leader, this episode will make you want to act.

The cost of companies doing nothing for midlife women in the workplace is significant and goes beyond P&L reports.

1 in 10 women are leaving their careers. Talented, gifted, hard-working women are leaving due to menopause symptoms. founders April Haberman and Kim Hart break it all down in episode 140 on the Health Trip Podcast. Linked in bio.

Afterpausing with pull-ups. They suck. They are so good. They are both true.

It took me months to get one. I started with heavy bands to assist. Then lighter bands. Then no bands with just 1. Then 2. And up and up I went.

I take zero weeks off unless I’m sick. I aim for two days per week. One on my own, one with my trainer.

I know you can do it. Make the decision to start today. You are never too old. I’m 58.

Happy Birthday to the Brand That Changed How I Think About Hydration.
Redmond is turning 68, and they are celebrating with a sitewide sale that makes it easier than ever to stock up on the thing your menopausal body needs more than almost anything else.

But first, let me explain something most women never hear:

When you sweat, stress, sleep poorly, or simply wake up in the morning after menopause, you are losing more than water. You are losing sodium, potassium, and magnesium. These are electrolytes, and they are responsible for nearly every function that matters: muscle contraction, nerve signaling, energy production, sleep quality, blood pressure regulation, and cognitive clarity.

Estrogen helped your body retain sodium. When estrogen drops in menopause, your kidneys excrete more sodium, which pulls water with it, which means you are chronically running low on both fluid and the minerals that make that fluid actually work.

Drinking more water without replacing electrolytes can actually make this worse. It dilutes what little sodium you have left and leaves you feeling more fatigued, more foggy, and more depleted than before.

This is why so many menopausal women feel exhausted despite drinking plenty of water and doing everything right. The water is there. The electrolytes are not.

Replenish with sodium, potassium, and magnesium, in the right ratios, every single day. Not just when you work out. Not just when it is hot outside. Every day.

is what I reach for and what I recommend to every woman I work with.

And right now, in honor of their 68th birthday, everything is on sale sitewide.

Afterpausing style vibes with tonight. Headed to a French bistro and I did my first Gayle tuck, tie, and roll. I always hated button downs, but after recording our podcast episode today and learning from her,, I’m inspired. And, I’m showing some black sexy bra vibes. Afterpausing with healthier yoga pants was not what I expected was going to say. It makes perfect sense. Our skin is our largest organ and we are sweating a lot more in menopause.

Your belly fat isn’t a willpower problem. It’s a chemistry problem.

Dr. Derek Guillory joined me on the Health Trip Podcast and said something that stopped me cold: the forever chemicals in your yoga pants, your water, and the air are disrupting the hormonal and metabolic systems that regulate weight, and your gut is ground zero.

Here’s what’s happening: PFAS and other endocrine-disrupting chemicals accumulate in your body over decades. By the time you hit menopause, your detox pathways are already overwhelmed. And your body starts storing fat, especially visceral fat around the middle, as a protective response.

This is biology under assault. The full conversation is on the Health Trip Podcast. Link in bio.
