Note: Total slip of the tongue in the video! I meant the harvest of spring and summer, not winter! 😉

As the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer, life in the natural world invites us to slow down. Yet in our productive, driven society, we’re often encouraged to keep going at a spring-and-summer pace.

From a natural and Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, that pressure can feel maddening.

In today’s reel, I share a little about the “personalities” of the two meridians that govern this time of year, along with a simple tip for accessing and working with them to support your wellbeing.

As someone who used to struggle with this time of year, I’ve been surprised by the healing I’ve experienced by turning toward and facing the season - and by the practices I’ve learned that have, in turn, helped me support others.

Please let me know how it goes for you in the comments below.

Until next time, be well, take good care of you, and let me know how you’re aligning with the seasons this year.

I’m delighted to share with you that I’ve been graciously invited back to teach a 4 week workshop at Grateful Yoga that will bridge together all that my practice has to offer you!

Unwinding The Web
Tension patterns in the body can be more complex than they appear. Myofascial Release experts like Ida Rolf and John Barnes offer insights with sayings such as, “Where you think it is, it ain’t,” and “Treat the symptom, look elsewhere for the cause.” These suggest that the tension and pain we experience might originate from other areas.

In this four-week series, Unwinding the Web, we will explore common tension patterns, such as nervous system regulation, low back pain, TMJ dysfunction, and text neck. Our aim is to help you identify the root of these tensions through myofascial release, breathwork and conscious movement.

Join us to uncover where you might be entangled in your fascial web and learn how to unwind it.

Join us for one, two or all four of the sessions! Details below:

When: Fridays November 6, 13, 20 and December 4
Time: 9:30am-10:45am CST
Where: Grateful Yoga – 1108 Davis Street – Evanston

We’re taught to treat winter like a seasonal hardship - something to push through, endure, or simply survive until spring returns.

We assume that because the sun sets earlier, our internal pilot light is supposed to go out too.

But nature doesn’t die in the winter. It rests. It roots. It shifts its energy inward.

What if the shorter days aren’t actually dimming your light? What if winter is just a gentle invitation to learn how to glow differently?

Our energy doesn’t have to look like a blazing summer sun all year round. Winter energy is softer. It’s cozy, reflective, and deeply restorative - if we know how to hold space for it.

If you’re feeling the heavy pull of the changing seasons and want to heal your connection to the wintertime, while keeping your creative spark alive and well, I created a experience specifically for you.

Registrations are officially open for Wintering / A Retreat for Writers & Creatives, that will take place January 13-16, 2027 at The Whittaker Inn near Purdue University.

Together, we’re going to rewrite our winter stories, connect to the wisdom of our bodies, and learn to honor the sacred medicine of the darker months so you can leave feeling anchored and alive, working with winter as your creative muse.

✨ Space is limited to keep our circle safe and supportive. Two spots are already filled.

For more details and registration, click the 🔗in my bio to read the full itinerary and reserve your spot.

💫(And to my beloved past retreat alumni: check your email inbox tomorrow morning for a little thank-you surprise before you book!)

Society’s productivity machine tells us that when the year winds down, we need to rev up. Finish strong. Optimize. Push.

But nature is telling a completely different story.

Although today is unseasonably warm here in Chicago, the days are getting shorter, the nights are longer, and the earth is drawing its energy inward. As women writers and creatives, our spirits need that exact same winter cycle. Your creative spark doesn’t burn out in the dark - it actually stays aglow, waiting for the quiet space it needs to breathe. You just need to learn how to work with it.

That is exactly why I created Wintering - A Retreat For Writers & Creatives.

This January, we’re gathering for a 3-night, 4-day winter sanctuary at the cozy Whittaker Inn near Purdue University. No pressure to perform, no metrics to hit - just warm fires, slow mornings, and fertile ground to tend to your inner creative flame.

Doors just opened this morning, and we have some beautiful early registration perks:

✨ Save $150 off King with sofa accommodations
✨ Save $125 off King or Double bedroom accommodations
🎁 BONUS: The first 3 women to register get a free 60-minute 1:1 coaching session with me.

Space is limited to keep our circle safe and supportive. Head to the link in my bio to read the full details and claim your space. Let’s step out of the machine together this winter.

Before January, you also have the option to join me virtually and in person at The Holiday Exhale / A Virtual Nervous System Reset Workshop and/or Anișoara Șerban • Instructor Yoga in Evanston for a 4 week series called: Unwinding The Web where we’ll explore common tension patterns and unwinding the fascial web that can contribute to those patterns.

Details and registration info all in my 🔗 in bio. Any questions DM me to start a conversation.

Looking forward to taking good care this holiday/winter season with you!

This is a timeless posture tip, but the need for a reminder can ebb and flow. Lately, I’ve noticed more clients needing this quick postural reset and I felt inspired to share it with you too!

Keep in mind that this is a general reset. You may have specific areas that need strengthening, stretching, or toning to support your unique postural patterns.

The reset may create a sense of lightness and ease, but it can also bring tension to the surface. That tension isn’t a sign that anything is wrong - it may be your body communicating that it needs extra care or bodywork.

Use this as a tool, and notice what your body is telling you. I’d love to hear how it goes in the comments below.

Until next time, be well and take good care of you.

’Tis the season of crisp, cool air! There is nothing like the changing seasons to help us learn how to go with the flow and embrace what is.

Behind the scenes - and partially why I haven’t been online that often as my days are filled with 1:1 sessions with clients and personal life - I’m also cooking up retreats, workshops, and gatherings with communities in and outside of Chicagoland.

These experiences will help bridge the healing work we do in your 1:1 sessions and allow it to reach beyond my own hands.

One example is the Chinese medicine idea that we are microcosms of a macrocosmic universe: what happens outside of us also happens within us.

The weather systems we experience can show up in our bodies, personalities, and day-to-day lives as certain conditions, states of being, or traits. When we learn to work with what is - especially as we enter more challenging seasons, like winter here in the northern hemisphere - we have a beautiful opportunity to learn from that season and enhance our lives as a result.

Please stay tuned for tomorrow, when I’ll be announcing some save-the-dates. More information will be coming your way after that. In the meantime, may you enjoy whatever season you are in.

And as weather systems change and become more intense around the world, if you are experiencing some of those changes firsthand, please stay safe. Be good to yourself, take care of yourself and your loved ones as best you can, and leave room for mystery.

Until next time be well and take good care of you🙏🏼💕💫
