Always learning. Always questioning. Always looking for more ways to help my patients.
I spent the past couple of days at Biohackers World Chicago exploring some of the latest ideas and technologies in longevity, recovery, metabolic health, regenerative medicine, peptides, light therapy and more.
One thing I’m continually reminded of is that innovation and evidence don’t always move at the same speed.
There are some incredibly exciting therapies emerging in the health and wellness space—but there’s also plenty of hype. As a practitioner, I think part of my responsibility is to stay curious while also asking the harder questions: Does it actually work? What does the research show? Is it safe? And will it meaningfully improve outcomes for my patients?
I had the opportunity to experience some of these technologies firsthand, talk directly with companies and other practitioners, attend some fascinating lectures, and come home with plenty of things I want to investigate further.
My goal isn’t to offer every new therapy that comes along. It’s to identify the ones that genuinely complement acupuncture, functional medicine and the individualized care we already provide.
Lots to think about after a very interesting weekend. Stay tuned for some exciting potential new additions to the clinic.
