MacLean and her family, the MacLean Center was the nation’s first program devoted to clinical medical ethics. Clinical medical ethics examines ethical issues that arise in encounters between patients, families, and physicians, and aims to improve the process and outcome of patient care. After twenty years, the MacLean Center is the leading program in the country devoted to the study and teaching o

Announcing two globally accessible online programs designed to provide foundational training in clinical ethics consultation. Key learning objectives include identifying and addressing ethical dilemmas in patient care and applying core clinical ethics frameworks to real-world healthcare decisions. Completion of both courses confers a certificate from the University of Chicago.
