Back from vacation and back in it! I’m 61 yrs old and spent 37 years either actively using dope or on some maintenance medication. I’m super Grateful that I’ve been completely free for over 5yrs, doing stuff I could only dream of! It’s never too late, if you’ve got breath in your lungs!

James Mango: “Man, that hook looks just like Frazier’s….grandma.”

Lol!

Me: “I’m down 35lbs”
James Mango: “Yeah, whatcha do, change your shoes?? Because I don’t see it.”

Yep, it’s gonna be a great day!!!!

It’s 530am, nice and quiet, perfect for some reflection. I’m full of Gratitude that I’m free today. I’m walking the same streets and the waterfront where I was an insane drug addict for years. I’ve literally experienced two lives, active addiction and then my recovery, the Greatest thing that’s happened to me! I’ve been able to do a lot of things, accomplish some big goals in recovery, but nothing gives me a sense of purpose and satisfaction as when I’m sharing my story, sharing hope with another who’s suffering. There’s life after he**in addiction, alcoholism, whatever self-imposed prison you’re in!
I was walking past the Custom House Marriott, the doorman said, “good morning sir” to which I replied “good morning, you might find this hard to believe, but I used to shoot he**in evey morning in the bathroom in this joint, but that was another life, I’m a free man today.” He replied, “Amazing sir.”
Amen brother, amen.
