🧠 The North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) has published a new consensus curriculum for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) implantation training.

Developed over a two-year period by a NANS Education Committee subcommittee led by Dr. Jeffrey Raskin, the curriculum provides recommendations for competency progression in DBS surgical education.

Designed for implanting surgeons and neurosurgical trainees, the publication is organized around the six ACGME core competencies and defines expected skills across 57 dimensions spanning early learners, advanced learners, and independent practitioners.

This work reflects NANS’ continued commitment to advancing standardized, high-quality education in neuromodulation and supporting consistency in DBS training and surgical practice.
