NANS is pushing back on proposed Medicare payment cuts.

CMS has proposed a 50% payment reduction for certain evaluation and management services performed on the same day as a procedure.

NANS has joined the AMA and other medical organizations in opposing the proposal and raising concerns about the potential impact on physicians and patient access to care.

Protecting patient access to neuromodulation is a priority for NANS.

NANS has submitted comments to CMS regarding proposed Medicare payment changes that could affect spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, sacral nerve stimulation, and related procedures performed in ambulatory surgery centers.

NANS is concerned the proposed reductions could limit where Medicare beneficiaries can access these therapies and lead to longer wait times, greater travel burdens, and a shift to higher-cost hospital settings.

NANS is urging CMS to further evaluate the potential impact on patients and providers before implementing these changes.
