By popular demand, returning CWHC clients can now schedule Gynecology and Trans Health appointments online through the patient portal! We are excited to offer this new option to make our services more accessible.

Have you ever felt anxious about how your voice relates to your gender as a trans, nonbinary, or gender non-conforming person? Does that anxiety affect you before speaking or during conversations?

CWHC’s Voice Coaching program is offering a 3-week course to equip you with strategies to help you speak with ease, freedom, and confidence. Both a CWHC counselor and gender-affirming voice coach will guide you through a series of exercises you can use to:

-Gain vocal and therapeutic skills for finding vocal ease and regulating your emotions during anxious moments
-Build understanding and awareness of how voice- and gender-related anxiety shows up for you
-Explore gender and vocal anxiety in a welcoming space with peers

When and Where:
-Thursdays from 7:00 – 8:30pm CT
-Weekly on November 5th, 12th, and 19th
-Online

We’re offering this course on a sliding scale of $160-$0 for all three sessions. No one will be turned away based on ability to pay.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month from CWHC!

This artwork that hangs in our space is a 1979 poster from Mujeres Latinas en Accion advertising their Festival de Mujeres (Women's Festival). 🧡

Last week, CWHC was invited to table at School of the Art Institute of Chicago's 2026 S*x Fest! Alongside other sex-positive Chicago organizations, we connected with dozens of students, provided educational materials, and answered questions about the services we provide. Thank you, SAIC, for welcoming us into the supportive, informative, and fun environment you've created for your students.

CWHC's Integrative Health Program is looking for like-valued volunteer providers! We are in search of a volunteer pelvic floor physical therapist and a massage therapist to expand the number of appointments we can offer to clients.

IHP volunteers are licensed professionals who donate their time to CWHC to offer alternative healing modalities to folks who may otherwise not be able to access them. Our volunteer providers bridge gaps in health care and health education for clients of all genders, sizes, and abilities, with no one turned away based on ability to pay.

We ask for a commitment of at least 6 months from all volunteers. If you are a licensed pelvic floor physical therapist or massage therapist interested in volunteering with CWHC's Integrative Health Program, visit bit.ly/cwhc-ihp-vol to fill out an interest form. Tomorrow, September 26th, is World Contraception Day! As part of our commitment to accessible and equitable health care, CWHC offers access to and education about several different types of contraceptives, from IUDs to diaphragms. CWHC's Counseling Program provides zero-cost letters of support for gender-affirming surgery / gender-affirming care. If your gender-affirming care provider requires a letter of support from a mental health professional, you can meet with one of our counselors and receive a letter of support for free. Your counselor will write the letter during the session with you, and you will be able to give feedback on the language used to refer to you and your experience.

Regardless of whether or not you have insurance, and even if you are not a current client with us, this service will always be completely free of charge.
