Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center Chicago The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center has been operating at its present location on West Bryn Mawr Avenue since 1972.

Founder Swami Vishnudevananda, a disciple of Swami Sivananda, established his first teaching center in Chicago in the late 1960's. Activities at the center include the following:
Daily drop-in Yoga classes
Beginners' Yoga courses
Advanced Yoga classes and courses
Meditation and Yoga philosophy courses
Satsang (free): group meditation, chanting, and talk on the philosophy of Yoga. As a non-profit o

rganization, the Center welcomes your contributions. Contact us if you can volunteer your time and skills (Karma Yoga) or make a donation toward continuing the teaching of Yoga and Vedanta.

The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center Chicago gives sincere thanks and graditude for The Divine Life Society of South Africa leading our Special Satsang on August 16th and for all their generous gifts. Special thanks to Smt Paroshni Mudaly, Dr Mawalall Chatrooghoon, Sri BJavesh, Smt Madhu Patel, Smt Reena Madhoo, Smt Aroona Devi, and all other attendees from South Africa and as well as from our local Chicago community. All of you helped to bring a great deal of healthy energy and Sattva in this event, and we look forward to maintaining a positive relationship with the Divine Life Society in the future. Come meet, meditate, pray, chant and listen to the inspiring words and teaching of the leaders of the Divine Life Society of South Africa. We are so honored to have them leading Satsang this coming Wednesday on August 16th, from 7:00pm-8:30pm. Their will be a small vegetarian treat after Satsang. Come and enjoy.
