The pumpkins are growing with all of this rain and heat! So far we have one giant pumpkin, several Snow White pumpkins and sugar pumpkins. They should be ready to be harvested at the end of this month to early October. Wendy is living her life because of the TIPS procedure she underwent at the beginning of this journey. However Wendy still needs a liver for transplant. If you kindly ask your friends to follow and repost this page it would be appreciated. Hopefully someone will be a match and willing to make a liver donation.

The hanging baskets in our front tree have finally bloomed! I’ve learned a lot about gardening from Wendy as I try to keep up with the plants. Our day to day activities have slowed but Wendy still responds “I’m fine” when asked. Even when she isn’t .

We are fortunate Wendy’s MELD score is holding steady but unfortunately she is no closer to getting a liver from the registry. Her best chance right now is still a living donor. Well the warm…warmer weather is here and Wendy is determined to get the front garden taken care of. She sits in her gardening chair to pull weeds and give me directions! I think we are in for another beautiful summer. A trip to Menards for lemon grass, rosemary, mint and citronella plants should keep us busy.

Hi all - Wendy has found a new way to celebrate our two favorite fur babies. When Boots passed Wendy painted a portrait of Boots at a local shop. This time she decided to celebrate Boots and Fritz with a ginormous canvas print of one of her favorite pictures. Seriously this is a 4x4 portrait displayed in our "guest" bedroom.

Fritz just turned 15 but acts like he is 10. Always by Wendy's side he watches over her and alerts us when her blood sugars are high or low. I know if he could help Wendy find a liver he would!

We were told once again that our best chance of securing a liver for Wendy is through a living donation. There have been several family members that we know of and others the hospital will not provide details on that have filled out the organ donation form. Always a great view from the 19th floor of NorthWestern Hospital in Chicago! Wendy and I took the train down town today for her appointment. The good news is the PT is working and improving her physical fitness. The doc told us there is a relationship between exercise and liver health. I don’t think Wendy will take up running anytime soon!😁
