Connection and community are a vital part of self-care.

From time in session to time outside the office, we believe in nurturing relationships, slowing down, and staying grounded in what keeps us well. Recently, our Founder Jennifer Larson, LCPC, NCC and Concentric's Mara Hundrieser-Acosta, LPC, NCC met up for lunch in San Diego. Finding time to connect with our partner can feel less like a priority or daunting. Sometimes we priorititze other things or it’s hard to know where to begin. Often, complacency in a relationship doesn’t arrive all at once. It can slowly show up through increased arguments, loneliness despite spending time together, or moments of asking ourselves, “How did we get here?”

So often, neurodivergence is framed as a deficit, when in reality it reflects a difference in processing and the unique ways each of us can experience the world. What you were told is a flaw might actually be a different way of processing the world. Concentric celebrates these differences and aims to bring awareness to how what is commonly labeled as a deficit is, instead, simply a difference.
