Sometimes anxiety doesn't show up as a "panic moment." It shows up as patterns that quietly run your day: avoiding what matters (procrastination), getting stuck in "what if" loops (rumination), or over-planning because uncertainty doesn't feel safe (control).

Try a soft reset: offer yourself compassion, calm your body (breath + grounding + a few minutes outside), reconnect with what matters most to you, then choose one small next step. You're not broken. Healing is possible—one gentle choice at a time.

For many in BIPOC communities, anxiety is layered. It's personal, relational, and systemic. That means healing starts with compassion, not judgment.

There are moments when your mind feels loud… critical… unforgiving.

The thoughts come quickly—
"you're not enough"
"you always mess things up"
"you should've known better"

And it can feel so true in the moment.

But that voice didn't come from nowhere.

Complex trauma teaches the mind to stay alert for danger. It learns patterns. It creates shortcuts.
And sometimes… those shortcuts sound like self-blame.

So instead of fighting the thought, try meeting it on paper.

Write it down—just as it comes.
Then pause and gently ask yourself:
"Is this thought true… or is it familiar?"

From there, give yourself permission to respond with something more grounded. Something more compassionate.

"I am learning."
"I am allowed to make mistakes."
"I am still worthy."

This is how you begin to rewrite the narrative—
not by forcing positivity, but by choosing truth with care.

You are not your trauma responses.
You are the one noticing them… and that is where your power lives.

When you've experienced environments where mistakes had consequences, or where you felt unseen or judged, your brain adapts.
It scans.
It predicts.
It tries to protect you from being hurt again.
But protection can start to feel like pressure.
So here's something to practice today:
When you catch yourself spiraling, gently ground yourself in the present.
Ask:
"What actually happened… and what am I assuming?"
You deserve relationships and spaces where you don't have to overanalyze your existence.
