Three trainers told me to cut my losses. Two friends offered to take him off my hands and neither one followed through when they saw him go. The vet said his conformation wasn't ideal and that I should adjust my expectations. I listed him twice online and both buyers backed out before they finished watching the video. He was unpredictable. He was reactive. He had a wall-eye and a ewe neck and a reputation in my barn as the horse that would test you every single time. I spent two years convinced I had made a terrible mistake buying him. And somewhere in that second year something started shifting. Not in him. In me. I stopped trying to fix what I had decided was broken. I started watching what he was actually telling me. I stopped comparing him to the other horses I had trained and started meeting him where he was. The transformation didn't happen in a day. It happened in a hundred days of me changing my approach instead of waiting for him to change his. He is now the horse I reach for when I want something done right. He has more try than any horse I have ever owned. He just needed someone to stop trying to override it and start directing it. Don't give up on the hard ones. Sometimes they're the ones that are really waiting for you to figure something out. 🐴

I ditto Renee’swords! We had a great class, thank you to all those who joined us from across the country!

Can I just say Wow! It always makes me nervous to teach a new course because you never know if you have enough information, too much, will therapists like it? Well Colette and I FINALLY presented our Eating and Swallowing course through TalkTools that we have worked on for 2 YEARS and it felt so good! Colette is such a wealth of knowledge about swallowing and the medical side of feeding and was able to present it in such a way that as a private practice owner and therapist I could take away so much to help me not only communicate with the medical team better but treat some of my teens and adults from a little different perspective! Never knew I was going to learn so much!

And I loved sharing my private practice perspective and we BOTH loved sharing our new Global Feeding Tool that is helping us look at feeding through ALL lenses!

Thank you to all the participants who joined us Virtual Live! Your questions and suggestions helped us develop a few additional clinical sheets to assist us in our practice that we were able to create together and share with them! And your feedback and love did not go unnoticed!

Now looking forward to the next one!
