Wow this morning has sure been an emotional one for me. I've been going through a storm for the last 3 months getting a divorce after 36 years, changing my name back to my maiden name, ramping up my business buying a truck and a trailer so I can do breath work in Mobile places and all the gear that's required for 36 breathers instead of 12. Making flyers buying insurance so I can do it in places like Moorpark Klamath Falls and maybe even Crater Lake at some point. It's all been overwhelming and immensely challenging. Thank God for the 9D app so that I can take breaks once in a while and also just knowing how to calm down my nervous system has helped a lot and surrendering to the emotions coming up this morning I sat and sobbed in the hot tub for a good while. It's all this messy crazy 3D experience isn't it? Say if any of you have been blessed by my posts or clicked on links and gotten amazing insights or even help would you rate me please and give me a good rating? I haven't gotten a single one yet.

What Trauma Does to the Brain… and How Breathwork Helps

Trauma doesn’t just live in your memories.
It changes how your brain and body respond to the world.

The amygdala (your brain’s alarm system) becomes overactive
so even small things can feel threatening or overwhelming.

The brainstem (your survival center) can get stuck in fight, flight, or freeze keeping your body on edge or shut down.

The hippocampus (which organizes memory) can become disrupted so the past feels like it’s happening right now.

The prefrontal cortex (your thinking, calming, decision-making brain) can go offline making it hard to feel in control, think clearly, or stay present.

And the insula (your body awareness center) can become overwhelmed or disconnected leaving you either flooded with sensation… or completely numb.

So your system gets stuck in survival mode:

anxious or hyper-alert
emotionally reactive
frozen or shut down
disconnected from your body
unable to fully relax

Talking about it doesn’t always reach these deeper brain patterns.

That’s where breathwork comes in.

Breathwork works from the bottom up—through the body.

With conscious breathing, you can:

Calm the amygdala (reduce the alarm response)
Regulate the brainstem (shift out of survival mode)
Support the prefrontal cortex (bring clarity and control back online)
Reconnect with the insula (feel your body safely again)
Help the hippocampus integrate past experiences

Over time, your system begins to shift…
from survival → to safety
from chaos → to regulation
from disconnection → to presence
