Bone health is something many people do not think about until a fracture occurs.

An estimated 10 million Americans live with osteoporosis, a condition that weakens bones and increases the risk of injury. Regular exercise, a balanced diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, and routine screenings can help protect bone health.

Our care teams encourage adults, especially older adults, to talk with their provider about bone density testing and ways to reduce fall risk.

Spring 2026 Safety Grade is a national recognition for commitment to patient safety.
Chino, CA., MAY 6, 2026 – Chino Valley Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, has earned its fourth consecutive “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that rates hospitals based on their ability to protect patients from preventable harm. Leapfrog assigns an “A”, “B”, “C”, “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries, and infections. The recognition places Chino Valley among a select group of hospitals nationwide consistently recognized for prioritizing patient safety.

“At Chino Valley Medical Center, patient safety is our highest priority and drives every decision we make,” said Gail Aviado, CEO of Chino Valley Medical Center. “We are proud to have earned our fourth consecutive ‘A’ grade from The Leapfrog Group, which demonstrates the dedication of our entire team to providing a safe, healing environment for our patients.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade evaluates more than 30 performance indicators, including preventable errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, to assign a single letter grade to hospitals nationwide. Chino Valley’s continued “A” grade reflects its ongoing efforts to uphold rigorous safety standards and promote exceptional patient outcomes.

“An ‘A’ Grade is a strong sign that Chino Valley Medical Center is deeply committed to protecting patients from harm,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We commend the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers for the role each played in earning this distinction.”

In addition to this latest recognition, Chino Valley Medical Center has consistently earned accolades for clinical excellence. The hospital is an eight-time recipient of the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award and one of the 100 Great Community Hospitals by Becker’s Hospital Review. Chino Valley also recently earned five-star ratings from Healthgrades for Critical Care, Gastrointestinal, and Orthopedic services, including Diabetic Emergencies, Gallbladder Surgery, and Hip Fracture Treatment.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, transparent, and updated twice annually. It remains the only hospital rating system in the United States focused exclusively on patient safety.
