A picture is worth a thousand words 🩷

We are so excited to share some of the beautiful portraits from our Mother's Day Garden Party! It was a special afternoon spent celebrating the incredible mothers and motherly figures who have touched our lives with their love, wisdom, strength, and care.

Our Resident Baking Club had a sweet treat today! 🍦🍪

Residents made homemade ice cream in a bag and edible chocolate chip cookie dough to go with it. After mixing the ingredients, they placed the ice cream mixture in a quart-size bag, tucked it inside a gallon-size bag filled with ice and rock salt, and shook, shook, shook until it turned into delicious homemade ice cream!

Not only was it a fun science experiment, but it was a great arm workout too! 💪 Best of all, everyone got to enjoy the tasty results. There’s nothing sweeter than making memories together—especially when ice cream is involved! ❤️

Our Resident Gardening Club has been hard at work planting flowers and vegetables over the past month, and our courtyards are looking beautiful! 🌸🌿🍅

A special thank you to everyone who generously donated plants, flowers, and raised garden beds. Your kindness has helped make this meaningful activity possible.

For many of our residents, gardening was a beloved hobby throughout their lives. Digging in the soil, planting seeds, and caring for growing plants brings back treasured memories while providing a sense of purpose and accomplishment. We can’t wait to watch everything continue to grow this summer! 🌞

Resident Craft Club Creations! 🎨 🤩

Our residents have been busy making beautiful crafts, and the benefits go far beyond the finished project. Creative activities help stimulate the brain, strengthen fine motor skills, encourage self-expression, and provide a sense of accomplishment and purpose.

This month our shining star recognition goes to Jessica Smith-Parkhurst! 🤩 Jessica started working at LHMC around 8 months ago, and we are so glad to have her on our team! Jessica is friendly, reliable, and very helpful! She always jumps in to help out when needed, and takes excellent care of the residents.

When asked why she likes working at LHMC she said, “I love working here because this is my second home; full of people, love, and laughter.” ❤️

Her favorite thing to do in her free time is to go trail riding in her Jeep! 🚙😎 She also enjoys refurbishing old furniture and collecting antiques.

Resident Outing to Micon Cinemas! 🍿 🎥 🤩

Yesterday, our residents enjoyed an outing to Micon Cinemas, where they kicked back in the comfy recliners, watched A Dog’s Purpose, and enjoyed classic movie theater snacks—popcorn and soda, of course! After the movie, we shared pizza, laughter, and good conversation before heading back home.

We hope this special day brought back fond memories of movie dates, family outings, and afternoons spent at the theater years ago ❤️
