A very special “thank you” to Mandy Meyer of Fire Fitness in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, for helping make a healthy difference for Essentia’s patients!

After creating a clothing collection in honor of her late mother, who bravely fought a 10-year battle with metastatic breast and bone cancer before passing in 2025, Mandy is donating a portion of all sweatshirt sales to Essentia-Deer River’s cancer clinic to help families undergoing cancer treatment.

It’s an act of kindness that Mandy says pays tribute to the care and comfort her mother received from our colleagues.

Thank you to all community partners, legislators, and local leaders who helped mark a milestone for Minnesota's Iron Range — breaking ground on a new $13 million emergency department expansion at Essentia Health-Virginia. With five additional exam rooms, enhanced safety and security measures, new technology, and a behavioral health suite, the project will nearly double the size of the current ED.

We're grateful to the Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation Board, Essentia Health Foundation, and all donors and colleagues for coming together to invest in high-quality, compassionate emergency care close to home.
