Patricia Faye Barrett

Patricia (Pat) Faye Barrett passed away at Teton Peak Assisted Living in Choteau, Montana at the age of 94 on May 23, 2026. Pat was born to Stanley and Morva Ziegler in Fingal, North Dakota. She grew up on the family farm alongside her sisters Janet, Ardis, Alyce, and brother Russ.

Pat received her education in North Dakota and later earned her Registered Nursing Degree from Fargo, North Dakota. She took her first nursing job in Choteau, Montana, where she later met and married the love of her life, Paul Barrett. Together they raised their three children, Rex, Nolan, and Lindsay on their Valier, Montana ranch on Dupuyer Creek.

As a nurse, she worked at Conrad Hospital, Valier Clinic, and at Swift Dam while it was under construction. After many years, the family sold the ranch and purchased another ranch north of Lewistown in the Hilger area, where they operated the ranch with their son Nolan for over twenty years. From there, they retired to an acreage on the Fairfield Bench.

Pat's passions included gardening, flowers, cooking, playing cards, and attending church on Sundays. She loved ranch life, often tallying cows on a clipboard, running a buck rake during haying, and serving a delicious meal at the end of the day. Above all, she loved her family deeply.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; sisters, Janet and Ardis; and her brother Russ.

She is survived by her sister, Alyce of Wickenburg, Arizona; her children, Rex (Monica) Barrett of Hilo, Hawaii, Nolan (Deanna) Barrett of Brady, Montana, and Lindsay (Rod) Chaska of Baker, Montana; grandchildren, Chance (Ashley) Barrett, Jace (Michele) Barrett, Abby (Stonie) Tucker, and Riley (Christa) Chaska; and great-grandchildren, Wayd, Bellamee, Qwynn Barrett, Zayne Barrett, and Beth and Natalie Chaska.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service for Pat on June 20, 2026, at the Choteau Cemetery in Choteau, Montana at 11:00 a.m.

Carol Jean Arensmeyer

On May 14th, 2026, just 10 days after her 92nd birthday, Carol took her last breath and graduated to Heaven. There, according to her beliefs she was met by Jesus who welcomed her to her final home. No more pain and no more sorrow!

Carol was born on May 4th, 1934, to Charlie and Besse Mayfield in Chandler AZ. A few years later she was joined by a brother, Richard. She was raised around extended family, attended grade school and High School in Chandler, graduating in 1952.

While attending Arizona State University as a freshman, she met and fell in love with Leslie "Les" Arensmeyer, and they were married shortly after on August 29, 1953. When Les came back from Japan, they settled in Choteau (Les' hometown) and started Farming and Ranching. Their son Norman and daughters Lyla & Linda soon joined them. In 1969 into the late 80's Les and Carol moved their family during the winter months to Litchfield Park AZ, and they ran a large laundry and dry cleaners in a neighboring town. In the summers, they all moved back to the family farm outside of Choteau. In the early 90's Carol & Les opened the Choteau Trading Post on the main street of Choteau. Carol enjoyed every aspect of this new adventure from going to market to buy merchandise to visiting with all the tourists going through Choteau. She loved visiting with people, telling them the best sights to see and where, and where not to stay as they traveled to Glacier Park. Later after selling the Trading Post, Carol enjoyed being at the Visitors Center where she could continue to tell people of the treasures of Montana.

Carol was a faithful member of the Choteau Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, Awanas, was involved in Bible Studies and helped with potlucks. She was also the self-appointed ambassador where she welcomed every newcomer not only to church, but then usually to her home as well for her famous Chicken Enchiladas. On Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country—those who never made it home, but whose legacy lives on in the families, communities, and freedoms they helped protect.

In our profession, we are reminded that behind every name is a story… a life filled with moments, relationships, and meaning. Today, we hold space for those stories and for the families who carry them forward.

We remember the sacrifice.
We honor the legacy.
We will not forget. 🇺🇸

Keith Harris

Keith Clifton Harris, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went to sleep in Jesus on May 10, 2026, about a month shy of his 77th birthday. He passed peacefully at Peace Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. The amazing number of family and friends surrounding him in the last few months of his life is a testament to the people he impacted during a lifetime of love and service to others.

Keith was born to Clifton Richard (Dick) Harris and Betty Ann (Duffy) Harris on June 16, 1949, in Great Falls, MT. He lived on the family ranch and farm in Fairfield, MT, his whole life. In 1968, he graduated from Mount Ellis Academy in Bozeman, MT, and went on to Walla Walla College in College Place, WA, where he graduated in 1972. While he was at Walla Walla, he met his "sweetie," Gayle Anna Johnson. They were married on October 1, 1972, in Bellingham, WA. Keith and Gayle were happily married for 53 years and had five children together. Keith was a devoted husband and father and always had time for his family, even with the busyness of running a ranch and farm. He was an incredibly hard worker, and he passed that amazing work ethic on to his children along with his amazing innovativeness.

Keith's faith in Jesus was of the utmost importance to him. He was a leader in his church and was always someone you could count on for help. Keith was incredibly generous with his time and money, giving without thought even when money or time was in short supply. He would also use his gift of singing to bless others during worship services.

Keith was an avid rock hound, shell and fossil finder, bird watcher, flora/fauna expert, and he could always spot arrowheads and other amazing things when others couldn't. When he wasn't working or enjoying nature, he loved to read and would even occasionally write a poem.

God surely broke the mold when He made this wonderful man. The hole he's leaving is immense, but we have the assurance that we will see him again, and that makes all the difference. " And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." (Revelation 21:4, NKJV)

Keith is survived by his wife, Gayle Harris; sons, Lowell (Larissa) Harris, Dwayne (Wendy) Harris, Eric (Katie) Harris; daughter, Anna (Daniel) Mendoza; grandchildren: Casen Harris, Holden Harris, Elika Harris, Colter Harris, Eden Harris, and Luna Mendoza; a sister, Louella Schultz, and many more beloved family members.

Keith was preceded in death by his son, Cameron Harris; parents, Dick and Betty Harris; and brothers, Philip Harris and Wesley Harris.

A celebration of life for Keith will be held at the Choteau Seventh-day Adventist Church at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to PAMAS, a mission dear to Keith’s heart, would be greatly appreciated.

Checks can be sent to: Gospel Ministries International P.O. Box 506 Collegedale, TN 37315 Please include PAMAS on the memo line.

Grace Lacy

Grace K (Barber) Lacy died April 20th, 2026 after a morning baking cookies and going to the gym. Born in Livingston in 1935, she went to Montana State and got a degree in microbiology before marrying the love of her life, Mike Lacy, in May of her graduation year.

An outgoing person who loved people, you could count on her to stop and talk to you in almost any situation. Grace was active in many groups over the years. For almost 40 years she volunteered at grade schools to help children learn to read and give them a support person. Grace was an active member of the League of Women Voters and took her children with her to events. She was on the Park and Rec board for a few years.

At the time of her death, she was an active participant in 2 book groups, the CWR study group and American Association of University Women. She served as Treasurer, Membership Director, and helped with the annual book sale, a fitting pastime for a woman who loved to read. She went bird watching with friends and enjoyed going to the gym 3 times a week, where she worked out some and socialized a lot.

Her biggest passion, outside her family, was gardening. She could take the trash to the bin but not come in for 4-5 hours because she stopped in the garden to work. She completed the master gardening program and helped in the community garden.

Grace and her husband Mike enjoyed camping and hiking. Once retired, they traveled all over, enjoying trips to Mexico, Utah, Nebraska (to see the cranes) and Alaska. Even when out in the great outdoors, she made friends with other campers. After Mike died, she continued to travel with her children and friends. She enjoyed ziplining in Costa Rica, birding in Iceland and Sicily, and viewing gardens in the Netherlands.

She was predeceased by her husband Mike, parents Bob and Dorothy Barber, brother John, and in-laws Marion and Etta Lacy.

Her children, Naomi and Jeff, their spouses, Carl and Laura, and her beloved grandchildren Jay and Carmen invite you to come celebrate her life at a memorial service on May 3rd, 2026, at 1:00PM at the Great Falls History Museum, 422 2nd Street South. We invite you to bring a Gracie story to share. You are invited to speak but we have a reader for those uncomfortable speaking.

In lieu of flowers, we ask for letters of your favorite memories of her. In keeping with the celebration of her life, you are welcome to wear vibrant colors if you wish.

Leo Mueller

Clair Leo Mueller, 85, of Fairfield, MT peacefully entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 16th, 2026. Clair lived his life as a testament to the Lord, and we surrender him to God's mercy with heavy but grateful hearts.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday May 6th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fairfield.

Clair, affectionately known as Leo or "Butch" to the Mueller family, was born to Leo Ernest and Phyllis (Tenneson) Mueller on September 23rd, 1940, in Madison, Minnesota. After he was born, his family moved to Hollywood, CA where his father attended welding school and worked for Lockheed Aircraft. In California, his younger sister Shirley was born. When his father was drafted into World War II, the Mueller family moved to Revillo, SD and then Battle Lake, MN where they raised crops, turkeys, and Herefords for 15 years.

Leo graduated from Battle Lake High School in 1958 and enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country from 1959 to 1970 as an Aircraft Propeller Technician. While on active duty, Leo traveled extensively across the United States and abroad. In July of 1962, Leo married Nancy Schrader of Augusta, MT and they welcomed their daughter, Rachel Rose, the following January. While stationed in Prestwick, Scotland, UK, the couple welcomed a son, Russell Anthony, in December of 1964. Leo received an honorable discharge from the Air Force in June of 1970, and the family moved back to Montana, settling in Fairfield. He became a valuable and integrated member of the community joining the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department, Teton County EMS Department and served as the Public Works Superintendent; ensuring the roads, parks and public water system were well maintained. Leo retired from the town after 30 years but could always be found volunteering to help where needed - raking the city park, painting, filling potholes, and performing maintenance on the public pool. He had immense pride in his community and an unmatched work ethic, often burning the midnight oil well into the early morning hours. In 2011, Leo was named "Gentleman of the Bench" for the annual Swim Day event and parade in Fairfield; an honor bestowed upon long-time residents who generously contributed to the betterment of the community.

Leo was a faithful parishioner and devoted servant of Christ at St. John's, where he served as the treasurer, conducted building and grounds maintenance, gifted and installed the baptismal font, among several other contributions. An avid outdoorsman, he deeply enjoyed fishing, hunting, maintaining his infamous rose garden and spending time with his family camping, barbequing, or playing cards and board games. His favorite fishing or camping lakes and reservoirs were Willow Creek, Pishkun, Gibson, and Lake Frances.

Leo is survived by his children: Rachel Howard of Fairfield, MT and Russell (Robin) Mueller of Fairfield, MT; sister: Sr. Shirley Mueller, of Little Falls, MN; former spouse: Nancy (Schrader) Mueller of Fairfield, MT; grandchildren: Simone (Steven) Howard Douglas of Washington, DC, William (Hannah) Howard of Great Falls, MT, Jenny (Jeremiah) Gulick of Fairfield, MT, Samuel (Janet) Dalton of Choteau, MT, and Nathan (Katy) Dalton of Fairfield, MT; and several cherished great-grandchildren. Leo was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents: Leo Ernest and Phyllis Mueller; and his beloved companion: Gwendolyn Fassett.

The Rite of Committal will follow Mass at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Afterwards, Leo's family invites the community to attend a luncheon at the center across the street from the church, in honor of his life of service. Active pallbearer: Russell Mueller; Honorary pallbearers: Zachary Ramsay, Simone Howard, William Howard, Jenny Gulick, Samuel Dalton, Nathan Dalton, and Jordan Schroeder. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Ernie Thorn Memorial Pool in Fairfield, MT.

We, Leo's family, will sorely miss him but find solace in knowing he has reached the calmest waters in the arms of his Creator, and the catch is ever plentiful.

Psalm 91:11 "For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways."

Condolences to the family may be shared at www.frontierfuneralhome.
