Cervical torticollis is a condition often seen in infants and young children where the neck muscles become tight on one side, causing the head to tilt or rotate. You may notice your child prefers looking one direction, has difficulty turning their head evenly, or develops flattening on one side of the head.
Early physical therapy intervention can make a huge difference. Treatment may include gentle stretching, strengthening, positioning strategies, developmental exercises, and parent education to help improve neck mobility, symmetry, and overall motor development.
At PPPT, select therapists at select locations are able to evaluate and treat pediatric cervical torticollis with individualized, family-centered care. If you have concerns about your child’s head position or movement patterns, our team is here to help support their growth and development every step of the way 💙
