SEPTEMBER | NATIONAL SU***DE PREVENTION MONTH

Stay. Listen. Connect.

Not every struggle is visible.
Sometimes the person who needs support is the one who keeps showing up, keeps smiling, keeps saying “I’m fine,” and quietly carries more than anyone realizes.
Su***de prevention isn't only about knowing what to do in a crisis. It’s about creating a culture where people feel safe enough to say, “I’m not okay,” and know someone will listen.

This month, Cicero Family Service invites our community to:

STAY — Be present when someone is having a difficult time.
LISTEN — Make space for their feelings without judgment or trying to immediately fix them.
CONNECT — Help them find support, resources, and people who can walk alongside them.

A conversation may not solve everything. But it can remind someone that they don't have to carry everything alone.
Your presence can matter more than you know.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health or su***de crisis, call or text 988 for free, confidential support, available 24/7.

This September, let’s make room for honest conversations, meaningful connection, and hope.

Join us for the 4th Annual Latine Conference on Problem Gambling: Youth Gambling in the Digital Age: Risks, Prevention, and Community Response, a full day focused on understanding the realities young people are facing and strengthening the ways we respond.

Together, we’ll explore how technology, social media, sports betting, culture, and family influences are shaping youth gambling, while sharing culturally responsive strategies for prevention, early intervention, education, and community action.

Attendees can also look forward to 5.5 FREE CEUs, breakfast and lunch, resource tables, an art exhibit, live musical performances, and opportunities to connect with professionals and community leaders.
