Kind of advanced, but interesting!

Efim Geller and Mikhail Tal played a very complex game in 1975. White is up a piece and is threatening mate in two — but it is Tal’s turn, and that makes all the difference. Black is winning.

I bought this book for my 8 year old grandson. Looking through it, I realized this would actually be good for ANY beginner. It covers the basics very well and also includes some strategies. Highly recommended for young people or beginners of any age.
(I earn nothing from the sale of this book. I just like it.)

Cool, but very expensive. Still, some may like it.

Chess is a great game for children. It helps develop critical thinking skills, logic, strategy, and in-person play helps social skills, instead of having a tablet in front of them all day. Try it!

I also like the Chess (dot com) app. It's a tad pricey but you can play on your phone. Solve puzzles, play bots, play friends... lots of options.
