Chronic sun exposure not only increases the risk of skin cancer, but longer UVA wavelengths, visible, and near infrared pe*****te progressively deeper. The result is breakdown of collagen, elastin and deeper fat. All of these effects can be amplified by smoking which independently increases reactive oxygen species and matrix metalloproteinases.

Combination ablative and non-ablative laser resurfacing with Helix laser.

This patient had particular concerns with the lines around her eyes from chronic allergies and eczema. Metal eye shield were placed on the eyes prior to the laser procedure to safely treat the eyelids.

The result is an appreciable improvement of wrinkles around the eyes, but also those on the face as well as increased cheek volume and decreased skin laxity.
