Meet Joshua Crank, Family Services Advisor at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Joshua joined Gate of Heaven in 2023 after spending 13 years in the automotive industry. Today, he helps guide families through important decisions with compassion, care, and understanding.

One of the most meaningful parts of Joshua’s work is helping families find comfort and peace through pre-planning, knowing many difficult decisions will already be taken care of when the time comes.

Outside of work, Joshua enjoys softball, basketball, golf, and collecting sports cards.

At Gate of Heaven Cemetery, we pause in prayerful remembrance of Officer Sonny Kim, honoring the 11th anniversary of his sacrifice and the enduring legacy of his service.

The overview image was taken during the first anniversary observance of his passing, displaying a community coming together on sacred ground to commend his soul to God and to support those who continue to mourn his loss.

Officer Kim died after responding to a 911 call on June 19, 2015.
Sonny was a dedicated officer with over 25 years in law enforcement, always giving back to the community and his family.

As we remember him, we entrust him to the mercy of Christ and pray for peace for all who carry his memory forward. May his life of service continue to inspire fidelity, courage, and compassion.

Meet Robert Cloar, our Family Services Administrator at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Robert began serving at Gate of Heaven in 2019 and values the opportunity to walk alongside families with compassion, professionalism, and care. He especially treasures the stories shared by the people he meets, recognizing that every life carries meaning and a story worth remembering.

One quote that inspires him comes from Beethoven’s Ode to Joy:
“Seek Him above the canopy of stars! He must dwell beyond the stars.”

Before joining Gate of Heaven, Robert worked in operations, consulting, and sales implementation. Outside of work, he enjoys trivia, hockey, woodworking, travel, and history.

There’s something comforting about having a place you can still go to feel close to someone you love.

A place where you can sit quietly.
Say a prayer.
Talk to them for a little while.
Or simply stand there and remember.

Even after all this time, love still feels present in places like these.
